I know someone posted about Simmons already. I was thinking though we could possibly make a move for Simmons and get Vucevic for Anderson and a draft pick. I’ve heard a rumor that the Magic might be willing to move Vucevic. If we could get Simmons too that would be amazing. Bringing him back to Houston as a 3 and D would be just fine with me.
I'll take James Johnson, he can make it work. Just got to fix his 3 pt shooting a bit. Nic Batum is awesome, buuuuuut there are injury concerns, and there are enough injury concerns on this team.
Hope it's not. I like Batum as a player, but that contract makes Ryno's look appealing. $24M , $25.5M , and then a player-option year at $27M. $76.6M remaining on his contract. That's nearly TWICE the $41.7M we still owe Ryno. I don't think Morey would do that. Stupid, stupid, stupid move when you could probably get someone about as effective for much less.
How is it stupid if the only piece the Rockets give up is Anderson, who is unplayable against the Warriors? The Rockets have 96 or 97 million dollars committed to Capela, Harden and CP3 in each of the next three years already. Even if they dumped Anderson for 20 million in expirings right now, they’d only be lowering their future luxury tax bill. Therefore, they are better off turning him into a useful piece against the Warriors, like Batum. Also, in the final year of Batum’s deal, teams would be interested in him as an expiring contract.
Ryan Anderson was hurt and recently married last year. Maybe he'll recover from all that and be more like the stretch 4 Murray had in mind all along. I hope so. Because I can't see anyone taking him off our books. Let's send him good vibes and hope he's the MIP.
Ryan is maybe the best stretch 4 in the league. The problem is not him but the fact that certain players against the warriors are unplayable. Also that we have a better and cheaper PF in Tucker.
No he will start over tucker most likely keeping tucker in his same roll as last season. Tucker didnt start till the end of the year. Batum would only limit james ennis minutes
I know people say Ryan Anderson's contract is an albatross but it's downright awesome compared to Batum's ridiculous contract. If the Rockets actually trade for Batum, Charlotte would have to be the one putting in at least one 1st rounder if not more. That would also make Fertilla's luxury tax payments explode the next 3 years. So yeah, it's not happening. Miami trade scenarios and Anderson + stuff for Bazemore can work though.
I waver back and forth on a Batum for Anderson trade. But a Charlotte first would definitely be nice and Batum could be service. An Anderson/Onaku for Marvin Williams and MKG would be a no brainer.
