For ****s sake stop saying BJ. BJ is not his damn agent. You know how many agents are under one agency, they all operate almost independently

i assumed he would sign with a non-contender to get away from james harden. weird that he just stayed.

An alternative could be Fournier. Not a point forward, but with qualities eg being a SG who can create his own shot to some extent, shoot, pass and get a few steals. Will the Magic retain him? I doubt it seriously that Ryan will go back to Orlando for him, though.

The other "point forward" is Batum for RA and picks. That would be a very risky move. It would make me very upset, the Rockets would be stuck in cap hell forever, without moving the needle. Melton can outplay Batum simply by being healthy, despite being a short backup SG, or as a good sized backup PG. Clark might turn out to be Draymond Green light, in a couple of years.

Good to see the Rockets were able to get this done at a reasonable salary. Very happy to have Clint back.

The Rockets are going to be in cap hell for the length of Batum’s or Anderson’s contracts no matter what. They will have nearly $100 million committed to Capela, CP3 and Harden in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.

Also, I like Melton a lot, but expecting a first year rookie to outplay a guy with the experience of Batum is asking a lot. Just because a rookie lights up the summer league doesn’t mean he’s ready to be a rotation player on a title contender.

    I was hoping 5-75 or 5-80

    But will take this too.

    Happy to have him back.

    Now let’s run it back.

It sure if being sarcastic or not...

But why would he want to leave James? Harden just made this guy $90 million.

It is 5-80 plus up to 10M incentives.

Looks like it's very likely Clint misses out on at least 5 million of those incentives as well, due to the sheer odds of him making 65% from the FT line, getting 30% DRB rates and the number of times we make WCF's in the next 5 years. I think there's a good chance he only ends up with around 3 to 4.5 million in incentives... which would have his contract average out around 16.5 - 17 mill per season.

My only question left, which I haven't seen anywhere, is what the structure of the contract looks like (inclining/flat/declining). If anybody has seen anything on this I'd love to be updated!
