Herrera hasn't been as good in Washington and is now seen as a three month rental. I think the Nats would still get more than they paid for him at this point in trade. The Red Sox, Astros and Cubs would likely have interest.

I agree, and he can win some games for them, especially in the regular season. He also has some decent upside the rest of this year.
I think we should try for Herrera. He's not bad. Last seven games 2.57 era so looks like he is coming back around. Might not cost much to pick him up.
A 12 inning sampe size... really? He has been very inefficient in WAS but over the course of the season he has shown his stuff and kept the ERA low in tight situations.
He helps them try to catch Boston for sure, better than what they had. Any playoff game we would play against the Yankees with him starting would have us as a big favorite though.
The Astros should definitely try for him. I am skeptical Washington makes him available and if they do, there will be competition for him. The Red Sox want another bridge reliever. While Herrera isn't Britton or Iglesias, he would make me feel a lot more comfortable about our post season bullpen.
It is almost 14 innings, or about a quarter of his season. Overall he has been very solid this season but he has had some struggles in the beginning of July.
He has pitched in 14 games for the Nats and has been scored on in 4 of them. If he was on our team and did that a majority of CF posters would be searching for his replacement
Yea that's where the power comes in, I know many don't like batting average as a stat and it's not one of the top ones for me either....but a 216 average compared to the 300 something from last year is quite a bit of difference. He hasn't been great this year, neither have Correa/Springer
If the reaction to losing a fringe top-25 prospect today is any indication, our fanbase is absolutely not mentally ready to make a significant trade this year.
The Mariners (4) & A's (5.5) are closer/as close to the Yankees in the WC race as the Yankees are to the Red Sox (5.5) in the division race. The Yankees are making moves because there's a legitimate chance they might not make the playoffs.
