Clever Rockies you disguise a Rockies fan by putting a verlander jersey on him. I see what y’all did

Agreed ! I’d love Realmuto but definitely need bullpen help. Curious to see what Lunhow does

Too bad cause they keep teasing us. Put them in triple a and they all hit .400 but when you bring them up their balls shrink.

One hit @ Coors - or anywhere - and almost win. The good, the bad, the ugly

Astros aren't on pace, but can still snatch 105 Wins. New franchise record is acceptable too. Whatever Total is acceptable with another World Series.

One hit at the most hitter friendly park is pathetic. I hate our offense sometimes

Good thing you aren’t a fan of any other team then cause you would hate theirs too

I'd think he'd be constantly nauseated considering the +193 run differential (25 better than the next team). It's just horrible to be a fan of the Astros sometimes.

He runs full-throttle into a dugout railing, makes an incredible catch while nearly smashing his head into the concrete steps and then has to make an unexpected throw home a split-second later and....... he's a block head?

I genuinely don't understand large swaths of fandom.............

Lets go through this one point at a time.

    1) Before the ball is even hit, Davis knows there is a man on 3rd with one out.
    2) Now the hit occurs and Davis as he is chasing it knows at some point that he is going to have to go over the railing to catch it.

Now the question becomes, if he does catch it, is he in a position to make a good throw to home? If there is any doubt about this, you let it go, knowing you are trading an out for a run in a one run game. Not a trade we want to make in this situation. Either Davis doesn't give any thought to this or he thinks he can make a good throw after the catch. As his body is flying over the rail into the dugout, he must have some doubts about getting back up on to the field to make any kind of good throw.

As things turned out, he got major help from Gattis in particular in getting back over the rail and onto the field again. Davis couldn't have known it would turn out that way as the play was unfolding. The bad throw to home was no doubt a result of some disorientation going over the rail into the dugout and back again.

    Davis is a natural 3B not 1B.

Career Minor league starts at 3B- 412
Career Minor league starts at 1B-10

Not sure why everyone keep saying 1B is his best position?

Good lord, man - have you ever played a sport in your life? It's all instinct and adrenaline. They do not have time to meticulously consider different scenarios as a ball is rocketed in their direction at 70-80 MPH.

Also, the runner tagging was a remarkably stupid decision; with even a marginally good throw, he would've been out and it wouldn't have been remotely close. This is AFTER the ball has kicked past Stassi and Tapia is still... 10-15 feet away.

Davis made the right play. Unfortunately, the throw home was not a good one.

Thought you and I might be able to have a civil discussion without personal attacks. My bad.

Uh oh, another tee ball legend flapping his yams. It's called situational awareness, at the HS and beyond level you have to know the different scenario's baesd on your base runners. At the pro level, you will have scouting reports and things like shifts added. You tread carefully when there's a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs, always, and knowing you'll be over exerting yourself to make the play, giving the guy on 3rd a head start.... he shouldn't have made it. Everyone knows he's nothing special defensively. Oh well, live and learn, but hopefully he does it on a struggling team and not the Stros.
