House conservatives move to impeach Rosenstein

House conservatives have filed articles of impeachment in an effort to oust Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the overseer of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

The articles, filed late Wednesday by Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) — two top Trump allies — blast Rosenstein for what they allege was a failure to respond to congressional document demands. Senior Justice Department officials have rejected the criticism and described historic levels of cooperation with Congress to share files connected to the FBI investigations of Hillary Clinton's email server and Trump campaign contacts with Russia.

Makes sense, when you won't submit to oversight by your bosses, they might consider firing you for it.

More likely, trump's closest defenders trying to show their solidarity with comrade trump but not so brave to actually do anything...

Appears jim jordan (of Oho State wrestlers molestation fame) joined fellow trump defender meadows on this. Complaint includes "over-redaction" and not turning everything over (and fast enough) on Mueller's investigation.

And here is the real reason... despite the fact that the DOJ isn't alleging collusion...

never trust a journo's characterization when there is a primary source

    https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4618744/7-25-2018-Articles.pdf

the crux of the complaint is a lack of transparency and defiance of subpoenas for information (also not recusing himself so he can remain in a position to withhold information)

a litany of withholding documents/testimony and or unjustifiable redactions

If I was Rosenstein, I would hand over classified info to only one person in the House on the Republican side, and the moment one bit of information leaked to protect the president in public, I wouid indict that House Republican for Obstruction of Justice. Why the DOJ doesn’t have a method to scare the living crap out of obstructionist Congressman who leak or pass to the WH to obstruct is beyond me.

Regardless, it takes 2/3 vote to remove him from office and would require hearings.. hearings in PUBLIC. This would be very very bad for Trump cult members like molestation scandal ridden Jim Jordan. They chose the method they did because they aren’t serious about doing this. It’s just a stunt to get the media to cover Rosensteins actions which for some reason they think helps them which tells me they think people like Booby and Tellv really are that stupid and cultishly brain washed.

The Republican Party ... the party of “Law and Order”.... sure.

Just wait to see how their position changes when it’s Trump and the White House defying subpoenas in the matter of months. Shouldn’t they be throwing the same fit even now with Trump refusing to sit down with the FBI?

Because they aren't so much worried it would leek to the public. They are probably worried that a certain person would get there hands on that info.

Basically because he won't be their partisan b**** they are going to get rid of him despite the fact he has stood by his conservative principles and upheld the tradition of his position.

I hope history remembers to mark him as a hero who helped save our democracy if our democracy makes it through Trump

It is immaterial what the motivations of Congress are, he is an unelected public servant subordinate to the oversight of our elected representatives.
