This will be my last post on the issue cause I’m simply not gonna agree with most of y’all on this

    1) he accepted one of if not the longest domestic violence suspensions in mlb history, somehow I doubt it was a simple shove (which also shouldn’t happen) for him to accept it

    2) I think the makeup of the clubhouse is important. Regardless of how you feel about the possibilities of what he actually did, I wouldn’t want a guy in the clubhouse waiting on his trial, potentially getting called away during the season or playoffs for legal precedings, or simply playing not knowing when the legal part of this is going to take place. Just not the thing I would want the team dealing with. I’d much rather have Morton or Lance close in the playoffs, or Rondon if he continues to be great

We are also seeing McHugh being used in more high leverage short appearances, if he continues to be absolutely dominant he could be an option.

As for people getting second chances I’m all for it. If he clears his name in the offseason, or serves his time and our FO feels he is truly a better person than what has been accused, then sure that could be a possibility. Right now though for me he would be an absolute no

Sure, I am not advocating that we make a trade just for the sake of making a trade. I agree with your overall premise, but the Yankees were very close to beating us last year (if Gary Sanchez could actually catch, things could have turned out WAY different). They traded for Stanton, have received great production from Miguel Andujar and Gleyber Torres, and just added Britton to an already strong bullpen. As happy as I am with our front office and our team, I don't think it is a given fact that we have added more over the past year than they have.

This, and with Gary Sanchez on the DL I bet they go after Realmuto hard. We need to trade for him to keep him out of their hands.

What are they going to give up to get Realmuto? The Marlins were asking for Robles or Tucker before Realmuto went bananas on the league this year. I'm not sure they could even headline the deal with Andujar (or that we could with Alvarez) and they sure as hell aren't moving Gleyber.

The Yankees are not going to trade for Realmuto. 0% chance.

I can't believe that when I ran through a MLB Show 2016 simulation that Gary Sanchez won the gold glove... I can see the Yanks go after Realmuto because Sanchez's defense is that atrocious.

Still, catcher is a big need for us, and while this may be premature, I think Realmuto is approaching Molina/Posey elite territory. Alvarez+Bukauskas+Armenteros is a start. Or even Whitley in place of the latter two, I think with Martin and Perez, plus LMJ under control for 3 more years should be fine. I'm also predicting we resign Morton for another 2-3 years, and I'd also extend Cole, even though it'll be a pretty penny. Of course my ideas are unpopular, but just throwing it out there.

Those teams can't afford to be complacent - one are good enough to beat the Houston Astros.

And remember, the Astros added Gerrit Cole in December. And Verlander last September. Those moves count just as much as moves made on July 31.

I disagree, Yankees have been known to make head-scratching moves like this. Not to mention, it would allow them to move Sanchez to DH (regardless of whether Stanton is there or not.)

Now, what are the chances with Sanchez being ruled out till Sept? I would put it at 10 percent.

    *Jeter runs the Marlins...*

MLB suspended Jose Torres for 100 games (weapon involved).

Steven Wright has gotten the smallest at 15 games, for a purely verbal argument.

Danry Vasquez was suspended indefinitely, and I don't know if ever reinstated (never played in the minors again and highly doubtful any MLB club would sign him post video).

Jose Reyes got 51 games for grabbing his wife by the throat and shoving her into a door.

Hector Olivera got 82 games, and was ultimately found guilty unlike others.

Chapman was the first, he got 30 games (I think star treatment and concern about a fight with the union let him off too easy)

Old article and what does it matter if you don't even win your division...

A one game playoff vs A's or Mariners is TOUGH. They have Severino but if either team get's a lead on them... it's over. Yanks made a good move but let's not act like they aren't struggling... If the starting rotation keeps taking hits and they have to lean on BP... it'll only have adverse consequences at a later date. If they acquire a another ELITE SP... then I'll give it cause for concern.

The latest we would see them is the ALCS.

Nevermind that the Astros have been stockpiling talent too, after beating that team last year. Or that the Astros would face the Indians right now in the first round.

I suspect you thought Cleveland and Boston and LA were unbeatable last year too. I can't imagine being a fan that always thinks my team is going to lose. It seems like the biggest waste of time to not even be able to enjoy being the best team in baseball.

The Astros are NOT giving up the best pitching prospect in baseball for 2+ years of Realmuto. It isn't going to happen. Further it is highly unlikely that the Astros would entertain giving up 6 years of Alvarez for Realmuto, and certainly wouldn't throw in Bukauskas.

If we deal for anybody, expect a Liriano or Clippard type of guy to eat innings (noted... I hope they are better than what they gave us last year). We just need to stay healthy and not overwork our guys. Keep that rhythm going.
