This was not at all my argument and you didn't read the warrant.

My complaint was that the warrant never says candidate 2 or political party 2 paid for the dossier. You would know this if you read the warrant which your above statement shows you didn't. You also didnt read my arguments since you got them wrong.

You should also get your arguments in line with Franchiseblade. He argues they didnt out Hillary and the dnc as the financier you argue they did. Get your **** together . Maybe read the warrant.

This is just silly. Her overall goal was to become president. It was also to take a step forward in women's rights. That wasn't listed in the warrant either. They listed the important motive concerning the purpose of the actual research which was to find damaging info on Trump's campaign.

You know the point Nunes was hoping to make was that the FBI hid any information that the payment for the Steele dossier came from someone who might have a potentially biased source. Nunes was dishonest.

Furthermore, it is entirely possible that the warrants would have been issued without the Steele dossier because of the other evidence they also listed.

you are actually trying to claim that your average trump hater has equal motivation as Hillary, who spent millions of dollars and would actually become president, for Trump to lose. They dont have equal motivation. you are wrong

no they wouldn't of. its not possible. Steele was the source for pretty much everything. There is no probable cause without it. Let me put it to you another way. You would never add the unverified Steele dossier to the warrant if you had other justification. The fact they did tells you they had nothing else.

i wouldn't be surprised, but I also don't really think it is the point. Crimea has long been heavily Russian. It was a vacation destination for Russian elites going back to the tsars. There's a lot of cultural affinity there for Russia. Because the Russian empire has included Ukraine for a long time, the distinction hasn't mattered that much, but it's in Ukraine's territory. So the conflict is between self-determination of Crimeans and the territorial integrity of Ukraine and how Ukrainians identify themselves and their country with an intact Crimea. Regardless of what Crimeans would like, Ukrainians have historically held it and see it as within their sovereignty. This would be like if Japan took Hawaii and because of the island's historical ties to Japan they could muster a majority on the island to approve it. Should the United States just say alright, that's what they want? Maybe you would eventually let Hawaii go if they started some process to secede that was within the bounds of American law, but not while Japanese troops occupied it. At that point, it's about national identity as well as Hawaiian identity. I see Crimea that way. There was no democratic process here, just a military occupation and an attempt at self-justification after the fact with a veneer of self-determination.

[whataboutism] Eric Holder in 2014 chanting and laughing "Lock him Up!" about alleged misdeeds of Mitt Romney. That would have gone over well! FoxNews would have put that clip on repeat for 72 straight hours.

Manafort, almost certainly. But do you mean for the shell company affair payout scheme? I doubt it. But as others have noted, we are talking about a felony violation of campaign finance regulations. That's pretty hard to debate.

    This is all very funny.

The standard for a warrant is low. It isn't reasonable doubt. It is simply the probability of a possibility. That is it.

Further, the dossier was only a small part of the evidence that was relied upon. Quite a bit of the information has been redacted as well.

Carter Page was already be followed by the FBI concerning Russian attempts to recruit him as a spy.

Hell the FBI disclosed that the dossier was paid for by people trying to discredit Trump.

This wasn't Steele's first rodeo with the FBI, the FBI viewed him as credible (and over time many parts of the dossier have proven to be accurate).

Did the FBI disclose that the initial funding of the investigation was from Republicans? No, because it wasn't necessary.

Nunes has had many months to comb through and look for any flaws or weakness. He had a preexisting bias and combed for anything that he could possibly hang his hat on so that those that want to believe Trump can have something (no matter how weak) to rely upon.

The warrant was sufficient, there were lots of ties to Carter Page.

Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Richard Burr, a Republican has come out and said Nunes is wrong.

Nunes memo is wrong on a lot of points. The investigation into Carter started BEFORE the Steele dossier. The FBI had been watching Page for years, the FBI knew that Page met with Russian officials and then Page lied about it. Only at that point did the FBI ask for a warrant. That doesn't even get into the comments from an Australian diplomat that Pap claimed he had Russian dirt on Hillary and Trump himself in public requested help from the Russians.

The warrant was approved by a Republican Judge. She has never claimed she was mislead. The subsequent Judges all were Republicans too and there has been ZERO claim from them that they were mislead.

    This is ridiculous.

For one thing there is the mountain of redacted material.

There is the fact the at the FBI had been closely following Carter for years. There was the comments of the Australian diplomat, there was the fact that Pap said he had Russian dirt on Hillary, there was the meetings with known Russian operatives, there were the comments made by Carter about his connection to the Kremlin AND there was the fact that Carter LIED about meeting with the Russian operatives. ONLY at that point did the FBI seek out a warrant.

Further, all the Judges involved were Republican and not a single one of them has claimed they were mislead.

The Sentate investigation head is a Republican and he in the last 12 hours has come out and said Nunes is wrong, that there was more than enough evidence to warrant a wiretap.

    Just give it up.

More arguments against Andrew McCarthy's efforts to discredit the investigation and FISA...

FBI Would’ve Been Derelict Not to Use Steele Dossier for the Carter Page FISA Warrant
Commentators like National Review’s Andrew McCarthy try to discredit the Mueller investigation by sliming the process to spy on a former Trump advisor. Here’s why they’re wrong.
