    You're making a lot of assumptions when you have as few facts as I do.

    We could have been saving the MLE for Melo, hence losing Luc to the process. Alternatively, maybe he preferred LA to Houston. He wouldn't be the first to do so even in recent history.

    All I'm saying is that with Melo at the vet min, I wish we had the opportunity to offer the full MLE to Luc because he was a crucial part of our defensive identity. I would feel a lot more comfortable with Ennis, Luc, and Melo at the 3 than just Ennis and Melo. Obviously the exact lineups are fluid in the sense that Harden, Gordon, and maybe even Tucker will end up covering wings.

    I wonder if we could trade Chianu and our 5 million dollars in cash that we can spend yearly to PHX at the deadline for a heavily protected future 2nd rounder and have them subsequently waive Ariza. He goes on waivers and no one has the $$$ to claim him. We sign him to the full MLE (I think that would negate that much of the contract that Phoenix was paying him) ans so Phoenix pays him about $6 million or so to babysit him until February and then we get him back?

    I was exaggerating. Here is the James Ennis's advanced stats from last year compared to Luc's last season with the Clippers. Ennis is a much better offensive player and a worse defensive player. We will be fine with Ennis.

    ennis is a MUCH better finisher than luc, especially in transition. but luc's a far more cerebral player who routinely covers for his teammates on defense and "saves" a lot of plays. luc's a relentless machine on team defense and that unique skillset is really hard to replace
