No, the Rockets don’t trade any draft picks to use the trade exception. In fact they may receive a draft pick depending on who they use the exception on. I also wouldn’t count on the Rockets getting a bench guy. There are going to be teams wanting to shed good players on multi year deals because they want cap space or to avoid the tax.

If it is coupled with Melo signing for the minimum only and the owner being willing to use the MLE on a buyout candidate later in the season, it's worth it. If this is all being done just so we can afford giving the MLE to an over the hill Melo, we are wasting our time.

    There is no trade.

    Kings don't want Ryan Anderson.

Yeah, I'm confused. It's been known since around the time this thread was created that the Kings are going to get Bjelica. So why are people pretending we're going to dump RA there when they already have a plan to use that cap space? What am I missing?

Means, if we wanted to trade with the Kings, we would have to take on some salary. I haven't done the math, but I think Shumpert for Ryan would line up with the cap space they will have remaining after paying $6.5 to Bjelica.

I doubt Morey gives up multiple FRP to get rid of Ryno, but he probably should considering how close we were last year. Looked like we just ran out of gas, guys getting injured and missing jump shots because of tired legs.

Morey won't dump Ryno for nothing and lose first round picks in the process. It doesn't make any sense. If he can take back a player who can contribute to the rotation, I can see that happening. but he won't just dump a guy who could feasibly contribute this season just to dump him. Plus, a year from now, Ryno becomes a massive expiring contract. Why dump first round picks for a bad asset today when you could wait a year for that asset to suddenly become far more useful?

I seriously doubt if the Kings are going to give expiring contracts for RA's 2 years.

I guess he changed his mind and decided to stay with the NBA. This does cut into the King's cap room, thus making it harder for Capela to get a big contract from them. RA always looked like a non-starter to me.

Gotta stay strong through the Anderson contract. NOBODY wants it till it is expiring. He can't play in the playoffs but he can play through the regular season

We’re always gointo run out of gas towards the end. D’Antoni always plays a 7.5 rotation deep into the playoffs. If Luc was healthy , green would’ve never saw the floor.

Random (and probably already mentioned in this thread... I just went to the last page), but Randolph still put up very decent numbers last year. 17+ PER. Finally a decent 3 point %.

He's kind of the type of player I'd definitely happily take back for Ryno. Of course, being an expiring contract is nice, too. Should still work with the rumored Bjelica signing.

That said, aside from endearing themselves to fans more, no clue why the Kings would want Ryno. Bjelica is the younger less proven and productive but much cheaper version.
