Ernesto Jaquez continues to be absurd in the DSL.

4 IP, BB, 9 K; Jaquez has allowed three hits in his last 24.2 IP. Overall, he's allowed eight hits in 32 innings this season.

Today’s GCL Astros lineup features 6 players batting over .300.

Was that an Astros scout, or opponents scout?

Cause ours have certainly been better than others over the last several years

A ton of people on Twitter kept commenting on his large size. I've been hearing for the past month or two that he's probably destined to end up as a DH-only guy.

I have seen a lot of him. He ultimately likely ends up at 1st or DH. However right now he is fine in the outfield with surprising athleticism and foot speed.

Honestly unless he gains a lot of weight, he can likely play LF for years.

I really think Yordan Alvarez has an Inverted Back like James Harden. That's why he looks overweight. That must be a Dodger Scout. Lol. Still bitter over that trade. Why is Batting Practice being Scouted So Hard Though Lol.

Yes. Could be a starter eventually, could be a reliever sooner. Depends on his arm bouncing back wrt bullpen duty, and frankly just how he handles it mentally and physically. He's got the stuff.

Good, and I hope nobody wants to trade for him.

You have to remember that @cescobar327 despises the DH (and anyone who could be a DH) and take all of his comments from that perspective

Brandon Bailey didn't allow a hit in five innings for Buies Creek. He walked two and struck out five.

Alex McKenna hit his first home run as a pro for Tri-City; it was a three-run blast that tied the game at 3 in the 1st inning.

Alex House is listed on Tri-Cities roster, so I think Hunter Martin is the only player seemingly MIA now.

How can he love Reed and not love Alvarez?

That’s like loving Steve Balboni but disliking Edgar Martinez.

    Great analogy

From the highlights I've seen I'm pretty sure Alvarez is the best hitter in the Stros system and that includes Tucker. You hold on to those guys. Goes with where pitches are thrown. Great power to the opposite field.

Natural hitter with a shorter stroke than Tucker. Since you've seen Alvarez alot tell me about my assessment.

Look, I just prefer players who have a more all-around profile, and I think hitters should be expected to field/throw the same way position players are expected to hit. And let's see how Alvarez grows/develops, but if I had to guess Beer goes to 1B and Alvarez to DH, based on their builds and what I've heard. I doubt Ortiz or Martinez's defense was really that bad, and even if it wasn't ideal, um, there's these things called defensive substitutions, part of strategy. Too bad Martinez got hurt, he actually turned some triple plays at third pre-injury. Wish he could have had more, those were cool.
And BTW, I seriously think Reed should start in the ALDS if it's against the Indians (looking more and more likely). We'd face Kluber, Carrasco, Clevinger, and Tyler, all elite right handers, and extra lefties would help against them (not sure I trust the streaky Gattis against ace righties). Plus we can always take him off the ALCS roster.

Lulz at Edgar Martinez's defense, um, I sure hope the Ortiz you're talking about is not David.
