yup. and once he gets a full year there, hell get to know the surrounding atmosphere way more than just seeing it once a year. that goes a long way without a doubt

The news though now is that he wants to play for the Lakers.

I do think the Clippers are an option, his team has him fooled that just by playing in LA he can be a big global star. Problem is, he could have been a big global star in San Antonio. The entire NBA is a stage.

Example. Player endorsement money for 2017 went like this.

    Curry
    Harden
    Westbrook

One of these guys plays in probably the smallest market in the league and he's still a superstar player known around the world.

Until Kawhi understands that it is his lame attitude and dull personality that's holding him back it won't matter where he plays.

Couple of years ago or so Kirilenko refused to go report to the Sixers.
I think that for every day that the player doesn't show up to report he is getting fined an amount of money.

I wouldn't put too much stock of only wanting LA. That's just his agent attempting to create leverage and scare off teams. We will see if he is willing to give up another $40M or so to sign with LA next off-season.

I'll take the over on San Antonio and I'll pass on betting on Toronto until I see what happens with Kawhi.

Latest high profile ones have been Derozan and Lowry, both of which seemed to have completely embraced the city. Actually feel for Derozan, he wanted to be loyal.

Lakers were NEVER going to get Kawhi. He's a pouter and doesn't have ANY clout
to where he lands. SA made it clear that they have NO intentions of trading him to a WC team,
ESPECIALLY with LBJ and the Lakers. Why would they send him to a team that could punk
them out of the playoffs and watch him succeed? The worst thing that could happen would be to be defeated
at the hands of the same whiner that forced his way out of town.

I just don't get this obsession with LA. Maybe it's because I ain't rich and would never be able to afford to live in Malibu or Brentwood like these multimillionaire athletes, but Kawhi is young. He just turned 27. The NBA season lasts 2/3 of the year. He can spend the other 4 months living it up on the West Coast. And when he's done playing within the next 10 years, he can retire and live there year round for a very very long time.

Like I said, he needs to realize he's in a great situation and in a really nice city now. Especially after living in San Antonio of all places. I went to college there. That town is boring as hell.

alot of it is media driven and the story that goes along with it. They just want LA to relevant again at somepoint and somehow.

But yeah a ton of the higher profile players spend alot of their summer in LA regardless, but ive really yet to see Kawhi in that group. Hasn't shown to be that type of player thus far

Awesome trade for Toronto, DeRozan wasn't leading them anywhere and they didn't even need to give up that much youth. I don't think Kawhi will play very well, if at all. I can see him sabotaging the hell out of this. How will he survive the media frenzy too is what I'm wondering, you can bet your ass the Raptors and Kawhi will get constant questions about this trade and what happened last year. Will Kawhi just throw shade at the Spurs, be diplomatic or more silence?

I don't think any team or player has much to gain from being around him right now unless he mans up, apologizes, stops whining about not wanting to play anywhere besides LA and just play. Health wise he's a risk sure, but keeping Demar was too. I don't get why the Raptors don't attract free agents, but since that's the reality of it, this is their best bet. Go Masai!

Let's say this works out, Leonard goes on a crazy run and Raptors make another solid move along with some luck as the Warriors come into the Finals hobbled and they somehow manage to win a championship, the title of World Champions somehow makes sense.

This post is terrible. Not the trade by the Spurs.

You never get an equal return for a player like Leonard. DeRozan will fit in well with Pop and the Spurs

so are several other players. being from a certain city has been a big media clickbait to add to stories. whens the last time a true impact player went back to their own city theyre originally from, besides Lebron in the heart of their prime.

Does this indicate that LA will ramp up their efforts to get Melo this offseason?

The loser is LeBron. Now there are no obvious places to trade Lonzo, and Lebron will have to listen to Lavar bs the whole year.

Kudos to Pop!! He didn’t get enough for a top 5 player, BUT he didn’t cave in to Kaways hostage demands either. Cowy is losing a huge amount of money and he gets exiled out of the country, that’s a win for Pop in my book!

Enjoy the regular season Spurs fans, DeLoser is a perennial playoff midget. What happened in that last playoff series between the Cavs and the Rapture was downright embarrassing. Perhaps a change of scenery will be good for that dude, but a leopard does not change its spots. Nice guy, though.
