This press conference is a ****ing disgrace. The President of the United States is siding with Russia over our Justice Department and Intelligence Community.
I'm surprised they wouldn't even come up with some staged thing where Trump briefly stands up to Putin in person. Trump looked so weak and defeated. Just completely owned by Putin, who won't even let Trump pretend to have equal footing.
I watched most of it and I'm not sure anything of substance was said. It appeared to me like Trump was attempting to be diplomatic....the Russians were never going to admit publicly to interference in the election just like the US would never admit publicly to attempting to interfere in Russian "elections". I'm sure some of our friends on the left would have preferred it if he had publicly called Putin a liar or something, but that wouldn't be productive and would push things towards war with the Russians. If you look at what was said leading up to this meeting, Trump was pushing NATO to bulk up their military and was criticizing Germany for buying gas from Russia....something vital to the Russian economy. You talk tough leading up to a meeting like that, in order to gain leverage and then by the end you are supposed to talk diplomatically in order to ease tensions. I mean, we know how our more delusional friends on the left will take this, but given that they aren't much different than the "Obama is a Kenyan Muslim" types, there's no much reason to pay attention to them.
Waiting for the Trumpistas to show up reminding us that we're not supposed to care about what he says, only what he does.
Yes. I don't know of an American President ever looking so weak. It made America look weak. Trump was asked point blank do you believe every single American Intelligence agency or do you believe Putin. He refused to stand by the American intelligence agency. He instead turned around and attacked other Americans. It was absolutely shameful.
Most disgust, in the press conference, Trump said (regarding the Russian meddling of US elections) "All I can Do Is Ask" the most powerful person in the world. on a world stage, kowtowing to the Russian dictator effectively, it amounts to a "I surrender and will continue to make America weaker" summit !
What an epic load of horse ****. Trump, who goes around demonizing NATO and constantly blasting countries that we have decades-long alliances with, is simply playing nice with Putin in an "attempt to be diplomatic." It's just unbelievable how stupid some of you are.
If anyone actually reads REAL news, they would know that Trump has been much tougher on Russia than Obama.
You mean like the guy from Breitbart whose tweet you posted at the top of the page? That kind of REAL NEWS?
Perhaps it is your memory that is short. 1. Obama did halt or slow Iranian progress toward nuclear weapons. 2. Obama did request authorization for military action against Syria. Congress didn't give it. (Though it did make him appear weak just not anywhere near as weak as Trump looked just now.) 3. Obama did take action after the invasion of Ukraine. Those are all a distraction from the issue of how weak Trump looked and made America weak.
My dear friend, That was not diplomatic. That was anything but diplomatic. He was ranting about Hillary, best campaign run, server, Pakistan etc etc. If he was diplomatic, he would at least have not touched the issue of election and collusion when no one asked him about that. Russia will never publicly agree. I am totally with you on that. where is the US Presidents assertion that such an act will not go unpunished!!! he even used 'literal' words that he has no reason to believe it is Russia. I expect a lot when US and Russia president stand before world together. This is odd. Anyways, thanks for responding.
