It's called a Sweeper-keeper and I would never do it in my day as a GK but I can see how the game has changed and evolved over the yrs, it's the game maturing...
As least this time France sort of earned it vs last time vs Brazil when they were paid off to throw the game; still think the team I rooted for played the better more pleasing to the eyes football but France made the most of their chances today for the win. Congrats to them, a great WC!!!
Sorry for Croatia. This was a once in a lifetime chance and they gave all they got, would've deserved the title. And would've deserved a better referee. Even if the rule says it's handball once the hand is not close to the body as it touches the ball, there's nothing the player can do in situations like the one that led to the penalty. He can't cut off his arm or jump up with the hand on his back. This vague handball rule is a cancer in football and VAR doesn't help. If the second half starts at one goal each we may see a complete different game. Hard to say undeserved after a 4-2 win, but the referee paved the way for France. French had all luck on their side, all tournament long, starting with the weird winning goal against Australia. But I guess you can't win a tournament like that without a good portion of luck. Pains me to see jerks like Pogba and Griezmann win the trophy.
This France team reminds me of the Warriors in 2015, Cubs in 2016, and our Astros from last year. Young team and already champions. Mbappe's only 19.
Damn good game. France played well and just had way too much talent for Croatia to handle. Griezmann, Giroud, Dembele, Pavard, Kante, Nzonzi, mother****ing Lemar! Lacazette and Martial were standby for **** sake?! I didn't know Pogba could shoot with both feet, what an athlete, why the **** does he have to play for Man United, how am I suppose to hate that guy after how well he played in this tournament? Mbappe is the next Ronaldo, dude might score 40 goals this season. Very enjoyable world cup tournament
