You know it will be visually outstanding, it's all about the script and acting. I'm assuming Sharlto Copley will be Robocop (only kind of kidding)?

Speaking of script, I looked up this Justin Rhodes guy. He has virtually nothing to his name, yet is listed as writer/co-writer/screenplay on the following films that are in the works: Green Lantern reboot for DCU, Masters of the Universe reboot, Terminator reboot, Unmanned (directed by Tim Webber, the visual effects guy from Children of Men, Avatar, Gravity, Dark Knight, and other big stuff), and now this. Seems like a whole bunch of heavy money, thought that was interesting.

Nice. Blonkamp can do it justice so long as he's allowed to and wants to do that Paul Verhoeven type of ultra violence with more realism.

Unoriginal Hollywood just going to pretend Robocop 2 and the Robocop reboot didn't exist. Robocop 2 was filmed in Houston. Media conspiracy.

Blomkamp could easily be one of my favorite directors, if his films didn't produce diminishing returns. His Oats Studios stuff was really good though. Despite it being another reboot, this definitely has my interest. And I really wish we got his Alien movie than the crap that was Covenant.

I'm not sure if he can pull it off going by Elysium. Or if the current market allows it. Robocop works because of the humor tempering the violence and drama but humor in movies today are all about those bland middle of the road comedies with Seth Rogan.

Humor and violence go well together, think Deadpool, Django, Inglorious Basterds, Cabin in the Woods, Zombieland, etc....

Robocop's an awesome, permanently rewatchable movie for me, and I like Blomkamp's style, so I'm going to remain positive.

Ug, why waste time with another crappy reboot -- just make District 10 that's all we want.

Hopefully it works, and it's made as a rated R movie or worse hahah... With lots of good visual effects and awesome jokes/commercials with shitty cars that get 3mpg. Perfect

I'll watch as a standalone and just forget about the originals. Blomkamp's a good sci-fi action director. Chappie was weird but fascinating to me showing a taste of the urban subculture of South Africa, something I'd never been exposed to.
