Stine seed is a huge company, relative to seed companies. for them to intentionally do this would be career suicide. Need more facts ..

In general, all farmers who grow in sustainable conditions should be subsidized by the government. too many stories about them not being able to break even despite working from dawn to dusk and providing a necessity. Tax the IT industry more if you have to, we can do with less internet.

Is the allegation that black farmers are systemically sold inferior seeds, or they found one large batch sold to a group of black farmers were tainted? If it’s the latter, it would be hard to prove discriminatory intent.

The manufacturer has a rep at the feed store and thinks of a story to get the feed store to sell the black farmers all the bags marked "x" or when the farmers go online that cant finish purchase till answering question to identify race

I'm not really sure how the President of their organization got there, but their land would likely end up in foreclosure and bought on the cheap. Maybe the company or certain personnel have a history of buying up land? Somebody would have to ask.

These seems too crazy to be true, but it wouldn't be the first time. The case will play out, and we'll see if anything is discovered to be true. Of course also possible the company settles and claims it wasn't at fault and we never get the truth.

Sounds pretty terrible if true.....but at least it's nowhere near as bad as what is happening to farmers in South Africa.

    @Rocket River

I have tremendous respect for black farmers as farmers and independent black business men

You seem like a cool guy. So i will ask you respectively if you wanna disagree fine ibut i know what you think a about my opinions on subjects like this. I get it. Whatever, but what you feel about my opinion is not an argument. I gave you a logical question. If you can't answer keep the opinion especially on round 2 in the same thread, i already know it

So Americans should be content if folks in Rwanda have it worse?

Sounds like a typical conservative defense of a social problem in America.

E.g What are the black folks in Flint complaining about? Blacks in South Sudan have even worse water.
Americans are richer than Mexico so why complain?
    America is Great.

Is that what I said? I'm pretty sure it's not....so good job arguing with that straw man but it's not going to get you anywhere.

    Pretty much this.

I have no idea if the land thief angle is true, but it's certainly possible that the company tried to offload worthless old/ruined (if they got wet and then molded) product. Hard to argue with the science.

@pgabriel: they didn't buy it from a 3rd party like a feed store, it was sold directly from Stine, and in the volume that these guys buy it was either delivered (most likely) or picked up in bulk at a central location at a future date.

We need to wait for the facts before we run to debating our favorite social problem

We can pin it on the evil white man always out to trick everyone, Or black culture which focuses on being a scapegoat instead of holding themselves accountable , the white man made me have 6 kids !

Each side has a narrative, stine has a lot to lose by doing this intentionally. It's hard for them not be caught. There is also a process of cultivation that could have been overlooked on a few farms where the farmers happened to be black , I can see negligence on behalf of stine but the whole racial thing needs more evidence

Let's wait for the facts before the same accusations over and over again

Because, being born in the USA means that black people do not have the right to b**** about anything.... because "we treat our blacks better than elsewhere.... we let them own land here".
