Ellington seems like a massive longshot to play for the minimum.

    Nick Young maybe.

Friendly tip jar wager? (And I do mean friendly, you're a great poster!)

$10 to the tipjar (or heck charity of choice):
I win if he signs for a portion of the MLE (carving out a spot for Melton)
You win if he signs here for the minimum
If he signs elsewhere it's a push

You really don't understand NBA groupies?
Dwight was stupid, but that doesn't mean women weren't looking at him because of his money. Dwight is a weak man.

He can likely be an effective player in the right situation.

The Thunder situation was bad from the start..... the Thunder gave no regard for how their players would fit together or what style of play they would have.

We saw Chris Paul feast against substitutions..... and Anthony would likely be similar.

No I get that they are groupies out to use him, that doesn't absolve him of responsibility for condoms.

Plenty of NBA players don't knock up multiple groupies.

I'm hearing from sources that things are 50% imminent.

    I'm putting it at:
    99% he signs here
    0.5% he signs in Miami
    0.5% he signs elsewhere

But remember! If he signs elsewhere I didn't say 100% and things change.

I'm not saying it is going to pan out, however there is a reason the Rockets didn't give Moute more. They are saying the MLE for Anthony as some think, or the Rockets think they can use the MLE to get someone out there they like more than Moute. Ellington? I don't know for sure who........ but this is something the Rockets clearly have planned out. I don't think the Rockets are holding the MLE for mid season buyouts unless it just turns out that everyone they want is gone in the next month.

While not necessarily untrue, the title of this thread is pretty clickbaity and making a lot of posters take speculation for fact.

Ellington would likely get the MLE (hypothetically).

I'd be fine with Ellington for the portion of the MLE (minus the cost for Melton) but that goes back to our standing disagreement on what they will pay Melo.

    I like Ellington a lot.
