He would be second Dmo if leaving Rox.

I bet James believes it too. ;):D

Dwight (Howard) Chris (Paul) and I are the cornerstones of the Rockets,” said Harden. “The rest of the guys are role players or pieces that complete our team. We’ve lost some pieces and added some pieces. I think we’ll be fine next season.”

Rockets have lost some pieces, added some pieces and I think we'll be fine next season.

OKC overpaid for Adams, but Adams can actually score in the post...

    So, top 10 in rebounds.
    2nd in blocks.
1st in FG% (You guys underestimate finishing way too much, this is not something anyone can do)
    4th in defensive win shares
    11 in win shares.

Clint Capela is 24 years old...and a top 5 center in the NBA.

Just because he got bested by Draymond Green, a 3x All defense and DPOY, does not mean he's suddenly overrated.

Noel is a bench player...and only because of his 'potential'.

They have a choice, they let him walk next season and sign someone else and hope their young bigs can play next season.

Paul and Harden are locked in for 4 years. They won’t have any leverage at all especially Paul.

If you overpay role players, you end up like the Cleveland Cavaliers. Paying luxury tax for a team that won't sniff the playoffs. Ryan Anderson should be a reminder of overpaying role players.

NBA only has one team with elite PG combo like Harden + CP3.

    Never underrate that!

We all expected Capela's statistics would be inflated after we have CP3.

He's also a better free throw shooter, passer and probably defender overall as today.

I think Paul is movable, you just need Lebron to ask the Lakers about getting CP3 and they will :D

All these Capela fans just fainted. We can see why Capela hasn't signed yet. Suns' Capela money went to Booker and Ariza.

I'm telling you guys, you really underestimate the ability to catch the ball in traffic and make the right move with it. Clint does this. Clint protects the rim as well as ANY big in the NBA. Clint gets rebounds and that's only going to get better as he gets older and learns all the dirty tricks vets know. Clint also knows his role and loves his role, unlike guys like Noel and Errmm Dwight, who get it in their head that they are more than they are.

Clint will do this for any team that has an AVERAGE PG or playmaker. Also...the NBA is LOADED with playmakers that would love to have Clint.

The 4/72 deal is about what I think is the upper end of what Clint should get on his first big contract. To sweeten it, I'd offer a player option in the 4th year. Take it, find something better and see if we'll match, or take a huge risk and sign the QO. The QO isn't just a big risk for Clint, it puts Morey in a tough spot. The 4th year PO is a compromise. Some thought's on that below.

Aldridge with SA, a big star, signed a 4 year deal in 2015-16 when he signed with the Spurs worth $84 million, with a PO the last season. He exercised it (he was making $22.3 in year 4) and signed a 2 year extension worth $50 million. I know, caps change, etc., but Aldridge was (and is) a far bigger name than Capela. Over the course of 6 years with the Spurs, he'll take in $136 million.

Is Capela worth more than Aldridge? More to the point (and yeah, different positions, older, far more established star), Aldridge had been a star for years. Clint's had one remarkable season, his last one. I think 4/72 with a player's option in year 4 is more than fair. Morey hates PO's, so that would not only be a big bump over 4/60, it's setting Clint up for what's likely a major extension while entering his prime to reward what we can assume is continued improvement. If he ends up having some "i" word problems, he's getting $72 million regardless.

I'd jump on something similar if I were Clint. He gets paid a lot, and bets on himself that he'll earn that big extension while entering his prime. You also have insurance if the basketball gods jack around with you - a 4 year, $72 million contract, guaranteed money. Seems more than fair to me. Am I missing something?

I wonder how many teams would prefer Adams to Capela. I would think that Capela would be more sought after.

4th in WS/48, top 3 in BLK%, DREB%, and 2PT%, and can switch onto guards with ease, he was one of the main reasons the Warriors went from 28 assists per game in every other playoff series to only 18 against us.

Is he with 100 mil over 4 years? Probably not, but any competent agent demands the most he can get for his client, its all part of negotiation.

When the games mattered the most, Clint outplayed every all star caliber center, and I love Rudy and KAT more than most on this board.

Put tucker at center and foul Capela anytime he goes for a layup.

    He gets benched, Problem solved.

Name another $25 million player that can be shut down that easily?
