Anyone who pays $25M/year to Capela will discover the hard way how much of his production was an artifact of playing with 2 of the NBA's best playmakers.

You folks saying Clint should be grateful are high as a kite.

Clint should get as much money as he can and use every trick in the book to get it.....this is business......nothing more nothing less, they have a short career....Clint owes NOTHING to the Rockets.

He should do what is best for himself, and hopefully that includes teh Rockets paying him...I am not liking the dismantiling of a championship team going on right now.

Come on Tilman - suck it up buttercup, pay the man his money !

Old cap, new cap, old math, new math ... I don't care! :)

4/60 is fair. Bump it to 4/72 then.

I dont think Capela deserved to get 15+ million. The dude is just a blue collar center. Much overrated.

    1. This will be Chris Paul's last big contract so he is not a valuable asset. No team will be building around a 35 year old Chris Paul, so the value of his contract is irrelevant.

    2. Funny you should mention the Warriors, because one of the reasons they have the roster they do is because of incredible value they've gotten from their players. Steph Curry was vastly underpaid due to his injury history. Players like Durant took less money to play there. And they got incredible value due to the fact that their main core of players were drafted by them. It's all about value. The reason why teams like the Kings suck is because their cap sheet is always a mess.

Yeah, go get as much money as he can. Go get it! Go get that $25 million and bring it back to the Rockets.

Oh wait, it's not out there is it?

If anything, the Rockets owe Clint.

When Morey drafted Clint it was to be a Eurostash to save money. Clint "knew his rights" and essentially demanded to play in the NBA.

If we are competing for a championship we can't overpay a center who gets constantly boxed out by Draymon Green and does nothing to counter. Guy couldn't do anything for 6 out of 7 games. Clint couldn't adapt. I find it strange no one remembers this.

tbh capela's ceiling is not worth that contract..Harden and CP3 make any big man better than they actually are.
i'm ok if he wants to leave next season, we won't be much worse.

I would rather let Capela go if he asks 60+ million.

He would be next Dmo without playing with CP3 and Harden.

    ok Counsel

Keep that same energy when they cave in and sign him to his market value. I also need that same energy when they beat GS next May with him anchoring the defense.

Clint can want anything, what matters is what you have the leverage to get. If he wants to bet on himself and choose to not get paid very well this year then perhaps he'll get the deal next year that he wants but I see no reason to give him 25 mil a year this season.

I might as well be a Warriors fan, all those players are so unselfish getting paycuts. While the Rockets Front Office thought everybody will take a paycut and stay together, Every Free Agent on the Rockets are so selfish. The Players honestly don't believe they can win a Title together. This is what I believe. I do not care what the players say on out. Harden, Paul. Max Contracts are only selling tickets, jersey sales, MVP trophy only. No real Championship aspiration. So angry right now.

Nobody is saying we will sign DJ, just that there might be a chance cause you know, he's going to be 31 next summer, and he's a player who relise only on his athleticism, nobody traded a 1st rounder for him this season, do you really think someone will throw him a 20M per year contract next summer? I mean, nothing is impossible, still, i don't see it. If he's going to get a similar offer to what Nurkic got (if not less) i can see him taking 9M to play here, assuming we would have the no tax MLE, which is not a given btw.
