Was on vacation for 12 days and saw essentially none of the knockout rounds games to this point. Wednesday will be great. Both games should be pretty epic.
I'm sure you know this, but just for clarity's sake.....France vs Belgium is tomorrow at 1 pm CT. England vs Croatia is Wednesday at 1 pm CT.
I wasn't aware as I thought they were both Wednesday. Don't like that they give 1 side of the bracket the advantage of an extra day off.
Well there are many reason for and aginst that. Belguim vs France would be played in Saint Petersburg while Engeland vs Croatia would be played in Moscow. So i feel like it pretty much negate the impact of the day off for either France or Belguim(hopefully)
Regardless of the travel aspect, having 1 less day to recover is significant. It's 1 less day no matter how you look at it.
I'm pulling for Belgium today because I enjoy the narrative of a small country's "golden generation" realizing their potential. I won't be upset if France wins, but I am praying they don't go up 1-0 early and anchor down their defense.
So this means you are pulling for Croatia as well, yes? I've watched Belgium and Croatia mature over the past few major tournaments, they both have the feel of Spain when they hit their stride, hoping for them to meet in the final.
Haha, paradoxically I am cheering for England. As an American without a team here, my allegiances are shifting quickly and often. Really, I want more of the bar scenes from London of drunk, pasty guys losing their minds. But, if Croatia wins, I'd be happy with that result. They took down Russia, so I do have affection for them.
I'm just glad we get 2 more games for all the teams, I really think they played the best football collectively.
