And you can determine his worth? How? lol Clint is better or just as good as Adams and Rudy....that's the bar. It's what's best for Clint, not a billionaire or fans lol. I'm perfectly fine with him wanting to maximize his value. The Rockets already max out CP3....we are all in and believe Clint will eventually sign for 20, 21 a year (a bargain compared to his counterparts) No, I don't care about Tillman paying taxes and quite frankly I don't think he cares either. The uproar about Clint wanting a contract that's similar to Steven Adams and Rudy is puzzling lol It's a week and a half into free agency ....i'm positive they will find a number, but I believe it won't be below 20 a year. We are all in right now....don't have the luxury to obtain another 6'11 center that's top five in rebounds, blocks and FG% before the season starts....also a high motor.
Dude is smoking str8 d***. Him and his agent. You have got to be kidding me. There is no way, any team in the nba even approaches that number. James made Clint. The most I would give, with hesitancy, is 4/$70 mil and not a penny more. Anything more than he can sign his QO and try and fetch that next summer. Still have DJ tow for next year. Wouldn’t mind him over Clint, if Clint and his agent don’t snap back to reality, quickly. 4/$100 mil. Joke of the day and we just getting started.
You need to snap back to reality too if you think the Rockets are going to give him anything close to over $20mil+. Bye
why is it puzzling? they benefited from the cap rise and market. you seem to not understand that. thats not the case for CC unfortunately for him. It doesn't mean he should get the same amount they do at THIS point in time. the market dictates his value
It's pretty easy for Capela to get $20 mil...just wait even if it mean staying out for the season. Rockets will surely have to sign him....they have no choice.
Wrong. Bye Clint. Go ahead and make the same mistake Noel’s made. $72 million dollar mistake. What an idiot.
4/60 is fair. That's [slightly less] what Cousins is coming off of. Spoiler The Kings and center DeMarcus Cousins have agreed to terms on a four-year, $62 million maximum rookie contract extension, according to the Sacramento Bee and Yahoo! Sports. The deal does not include any player or team options, USA Today Sports reports. Cousins, 23, averaged 17.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals for the Kings last season, his third with the team. The No. 5 pick in the 2010 draft after going one-and-done at Kentucky, Cousins' PER of 20.2 ranked in the top 10 among centers last season. The extension will kick in for the 2014-15 season and run through the 2017-18 season. Cousins will make $4.9 million in the final year of his rookie contract in 2013-14. Once his new deal kicks in, Cousins will be one of the league's highest-paid centers. The obvious comparison points for this extension are the four-year, $58 million deal signed by Pacers center Roy Hibbert and the four-year, $61 million deal signed by Nets center Brook Lopez. Both deals were completed last summer. https://www.si.com/nba/point-forwar...contract-extension-agreement-sacramento-kings This is about it. 4/70, 4/72 is fair. That's 17M-18M per year. You're a good center, not sure I'd call you elite. (but but but look at what he did in one series vs this center!) And you're a 26-28 minute center, not 32-34-36. $12M on the low end, $18M on the high end. $20M plus, you're probably overpaying but if he thinks someone will give that to him next year... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You are the Rockets (Dallas version) Tyson Chandler. If we pay him 100 mill and win 2 championships .. . .WORTH IT If he bolts. . . .what are likely hood of even reaching the conference finals? You gotta pay to play Scared Money wins no money! Rocket River
People are just reacting defensively as Rockets fans. Luckily the negotiations with CP3 were over quick, but if there had been any reports of Houston offering $20m per and CP3 asking $40m per, we would see the exact same type of threads, loaded with how CP3 is ancient and there are a bunch of scrubby point guards better than him. Even before FA started, people were already downplaying Paul's contributions because they didn't want to come to terms with giving him max dollars.
The Rockets want value. It's not about their willingness to pay $25 million to Clint. It's about the value of his contract. They want a contract that is valuable so that he could (potentially) be used in trades. If he is on a good contract, he's an asset. If he is overpaid, he is a liability. That's why Eric Gordon is such a good asset. He's a good player being paid $12 million per year. If he was being paid $20 million, he wouldn't be nearly as tradeable.. similar to how Ryan Anderson isn't tradeable. Ryan Anderson could easily be traded if he was making $5 million per year.
I dun care if you give Paul 50 million per year (well a little) but you have to give him 2-3 years. Giving out 4 or 5 years is just gagging your franchise when the guy is washed up.
Look at the past 5 seasons - Players who average 13+pts 10+rbs 1.5+blks 60%+ FG 1 Capela 2 Gobert - Same time in league as Capela. Just signed 4 year $102m 3 Dwight Howard ~$23m/yr dinosaur 4 Hassan Whiteside ~$22m/yr 5 Andre Drummond ~$22m/yr 4 year $60 is lowballing. If they truly think he is part of the success, and UFA next year is not ideal...then keep him from accepting the QO. 4 yr $80m seems reasonable. $2m lower than the average of those other guys, but the market for big men isn't there this offseason. Might not be there next offseason either. Meet in the middle and handshake at 4/80.
1) If they want value, then they shouldn't have paid Chris Paul $160M 2) If they want value, then they shouldn't be concerned with chasing the Warriors, because willingly taking steps back is not how you do it.
