sorry CC. but hes not getting $25 mil per. he would of had a chance at this 2 years ago if he was at the point of where he was today but for a pnr center atm. not happening. hes not a terrible as noel but dont make the same mistake he did and miss out on a chunk of guaranteed money. and i doubt hou even wants to give him $20 mil
How does BJ Armstrong keep getting players to sign with him???? lol jk In all honesty, reality is about to hit Capela and his agent pretty hard.
LOL BJ making up for the money he lost on DMo and his hurt ego Morey should up his offer to 70/4 and Capela should be okay with that
I'm thinking the same; if a 4/80 offer isn't acceptable by Capela then I would just let him sign that QO and let it ride ride.
Capela has more leverage than Morey at this point unfortunately. After CP3 and Harden, Capela is or third most important guy and his agent knows we have a limited window with no easy options to acquire other talent. It’s not my money and we are capped out next season regardless so of course I’d rather we do whatever it takes to keep Clint from signing the QO.
He ain't getting 25 mil a year. The Rockets should up it to maybe 17-18 mil, but honestly Clint should be grateful to be offered even that much in this market. Hell, I don't even know if Clint would get 25 mil a year next summer if he takes the qualifying offer and has another great season. There's gonna be an insane number of free agents out there in 2019.
I'd like to think of it as Zach Lavine money--young player with potential to grow but most likely an overpay
What leverage does he have? He'll have to suit up as a Rocket regardless. There might be more teams with capspace but there will be a TON of free agents next year as well too. This is a negotiating ploy to get 4/80. I'm pretty certain...or 4/84 like what Aaron Gordon got.
I'm glad that we finally have some info on the numbers on the table. Now time for CF to call Capela all the names in the book. How he dare want 25 mil?
He would if someone were offering that amount of money to him...but they're not. This market isn't going for that; not now.
This I agree with completely. The Rockets have to lock him up for 4 years. Because if he accepts the qualifying offer, he will be dealt by February. The Rockets will be terrified of losing him for nothing.
