Trevor Booker, hopefully he'll take veterans minimum but would be good fit for our small ball lineups

    CP3/MCW
    Harden/Gordon/Melton
    Melo/Green/Booker
    Tucker/Booker/Anderson
    Capela/Tucker/Nene/Booker

I would be content with this rotation going into the season

The thing is, if we get a solid 3&D wing player, we’d probably have to trade EG. Depending on who that player is, it could work out for us.

A list of guys who can fill that position and could be gotten in trade (that I prefer at least)
    TJ Warren
    Tobias Harris
    Jae Crowder
Oubre (not a great defender but still young)
Otto Porter (not sure what we’d have to give up for this though)

    Trade rumored pipe dreams:
    Kawhi
    Jimmy Butler

I feel like every summer I go through a period where I think “Morey wtf are you doing” and this is that period right now. Hopefully he has another trick up his sleeve.

It's every summer. Morey always seems to come through so I always give him the benefit of the doubt.

The Fan reaction is going overboard by Trevor Ariza and Luc leaving. Daryl was right when Parsons left and signed Trevor who was in his prime and played every game in his contract. Rockets got the most out of Trevor over Parsons. Parsons has two bad knees, micro fracture surgery on his knees. Parsons can't even bend his knees on free throws.
Luc Did not play at all in the Warrior Series. His Shoulder has not even been operated still. It is a risk to still have Luc and he gets injured again it's a wasted roster spot. Trevor Ariza is 33 years old, Ariza can't stop Durant at all. Ariza looked terrible on defense on his switches against Klay and Klay easily shooting the 3 in the Corner. Ariza is the most useless on offense, he can't dribble quick to the basket, has no crossover move, can't run fast break, streaky 3 point shooter, in Game 7, 0-12 from the field, 0-9 from 3. Ariza not contributing any points at all costed that series.

Maybe the bet is that Harden and Paul and the D'Antoni scheme can make what appears to be random scrap-heap guys look useful. After all, Luc didn't sign for the minimum last season because he had a bunch of huge offers on the table elsewhere. Need someone who is versatile defensively and can shoot at least a little.

Trevor Booker and Dante Cunningham? More PF than wing (duplicate PJ?) but worth a look. Maybe a James Ennis or James Nunnally or a similarly unsung player with some potential.

Vince Carter is still alive. Can he help? Maybe trade Ryan Anderson for Chandler Parsons or some other wing player viewed as having a "bad contract" (like Allen Crabbe?).

If Morey doesn’t get anyone he better start working on his jumper

All I'm saying is how come last year it was a great fit and not now? And I think he will be fine in our offense and hopefully have a couple of huge games in the playoffs.

Wayne Ellington would be nice. Great three point shooter. Not sure what he would cost though/if that is a realistic option.

Another thought: Given that we don't really need Luc until the playoffs. We can replace Luc with Luc at the trade deadline.

How do you know that exactly? We still have Harden, CP3, EG, GG, Capela, Tucker, Nene, Anderson and others. We got about as much from Anderson as we got from LMM in the playoffs. I'm not worried.

Honestly, I think OKC helped Melo... errr. mello out a bit. It was a good transition team (and OKC wasn't championship material anyhow).

    Starting lineup:
    C Capela
    PF Tucker
    SF Melo
    SG Harden
    PG Paul

Is still killer. We have Capela and Tucker for front court defense and Melo would stretch out the defenders and space the floor more than Ariza.

We still have a solid bench in:

    SG Gordon
    SF Green
    SG Micheal Carter-Williams
    C Nene

For our 8 man rotation. I also feel Anderson (if still on the team) will contribute more sliding into the PF spot.

    Small lineup:

    C Tucker
    PF Melo
    SF Gordon
    SF Harden
    PG Paul

    Would be deadly on offense.

If we give Tucker a rest then MCW could be that guy for defense:

    C Capela
    PF Anderson/Melo
    SF MCW
    SG Harden
    PG Paul

Melo would get so many wide open shots that he'd be having a field day at times. I also see him slashing more than Ariza because he can post up. Harden and Paul would have Capela on one side and Melo on the other for lobs.

I think we are done with FA except bringing back Clint and perhaps signing Melo.

We just got no salary to offer any good FA.

I like us getting Melo just because he is cheap to get and we needed a SF/PF.

I assume Melo wants the MLE but it would be great if he would just go minimum. Obviously he ihas made a ton.

Melo for the minimum, Wayne Ellington for the MLE and trade Anderson and a future 1st for Bazemore

    Capela/Nene
    Tucker/Melo
    Melo/Bazemore/Green
    Harden/Gordon/Green
    Paul/Harden

I see what you’re saying, but I really think Father Time has caught up to Nene, and those lineups don’t have enough defense to compete with Golden State imo. Pretty disappointed right now, and I consider myself an optimist.

    I
It isn't really about how good our starting lineup is anymore. It's about matching up with 1 team. If we don't add a long, agile defender it's trouble.

I would look into getting Jonathon Simmons from Orlando, or James Johnson from Miami

2 guys in my dream, wish we can somehow get a trade for them in Feb. Al-Farouq Aminu and Maurice Harkless. If Lillard demands to trade to LA to team up with Lebron, that team would be set up for the rebuild. Hope dream comes true :D
