*shrug* Might as well. They have no choice at this point. Hope there's a big trade coming later or the Rockets will just be playing to have an interesting season instead of contending.
Such as....? The problem is...every team is looking for someone like that. So, most are taken, and ones that aren't, are likely questionable at the role.
Melo will be fine here (he will not hesitate to shoot ) something ryan Anderson was doing) Melo will strive with CP3 and Harden
i don't want melo. We're hardly worse off than we were last year. Mah boutay is a known choker. We lost Trev... yes that sucks, but we'll still compete with the best team in the NBA.
The rockets love a cancer or loser so much, that is strange. Maybe he can bring some his fans to the clutchfans.com, which is not a bad thing.
I think the Rockets just like talent. And sometimes it takes something like character concerns to get a discount on skills. I don't think we get more regular season wins with Melo. I think if we want a chance against GS, we need him though, unless something else is in the works. In the playoffs, the defense is clamped down and suddenly the wide open shots aren't coming as easily. Especially when CP3 went down, Harden and EG coudn't create offense literally every single play, so guys like Ariza and Gerald were forced to step out of their roles and create occasional offense, which wasn't pretty for the most parts. You need guys like Melo who can create in scenarios like that, need to keep all scoring droughts at a limit
One more time for all the negative Nancy’s... 1. He’s basically free (vet min or MLE) 2. We don’t have any salary cap space for 2 years minimum, depending on what happens with Capela could be longer. 3. There isn’t another player out there who has A) the proven track record, and B) the potential ceiling of Melo. And if there was he definitely wouldn’t come for the little we have to offer. 4. If he is awful and tearing us down from inside, we can cut him easily. 5. We aren’t beating the warriors anyway, so might as well try something like adding a multi time Olympian and all star. 6. Ariza leaving was a POSITIVE. He isn’t nearly as good as you all project him. He’s an average player, not worth anywhere near 15m. 7. Moute didn’t play in the playoffs. Why would it matter if left? He played a few spot minutes and was bad. 8. CP3 wants him.
If Melo weren't so close with Paul, I doubt he would be coming here. But the front office obviously believes Paul will keep him happy, and the coaching staff obviously believes he can contribute here, or they would not be sitting on that MLE.
