When can we (realistically) expect this Melo thing to be done at the earliest/latest this summer? If we get him, cool! If we don't get him, cool! This whole waiting game is frustrating, I just want to see our team move forward with or without him NOW
he can do almost nothing on offense.... dont say he can hit 3pt shot because this is the 21st century everybody can somewhat shoot 3pters now, in this day and age even aron freaking baynes is hitting them in the playoffs ... i am expecting nothing short of historic spectacle AGAIN and i am not crapping on him i would have loved if we kept him... even for 15 mil... but i am realistic enough to know our offense will FLOURISH without ariza...it will be the easiest game for everyone and it will run smooth like a morning breeze
If Melo can help free Capela from being punked by Draymond Green that my friends is a game changer in itself regarding playing GS.
The contract still counts, it's guaranteed, this isn't the NFL. The only way the Thunder will not have Melo count against their cap for next season is to trade him.
Mitch Lawrence just tweeted that Rockets had a convo with Melo’s camp and there is uncertainty after the talks. Don’t really know how Mitch Lawrence would get that info but still.
Lol. You guys are unbelievable. So Ariza wasn't a crucial part of the teams success? What have you been watching this whole time? He's not only a solid spotup 3pt shooter, but one of THE BEST 3pt shooters from the corners in the NBA. Anybody in the 21st century know how important role players like Trevor are to a championship team. He's the prototypical 3&D wing. He does have flaws, but to say he does nothing on offense when he's been the best corner 3pt shooter is just poor & inaccurate
Rox: "We'd love to have you, Carmelo." Melo: "Am I going to have to play defense?" Rox: "Well of course." Melo: "Hmmm... I'll get back to you."
Can't remember this happening this last playoffs. Seems to me that Clint/Draymond largely cancelled each other out, which is fantastic for us, and a big reason why we had them beat before CP3's injury. (And dirty refs)
"After meeting with Carmelo Anthony's people, Rockets brass wondering if he'd be a good fit [ e.g. is he willing to sacrifice coming off the bench or playing limited minutes] BTW, "CP intervening"......as a competitor I don't see CP forcing Melo onto the Rockets because of friendship if it hurts the team's chances to beat GSW.
They had to actually meet with him to start wondering if he's a good fit? I haven't met him and I already know he isn't.
