and he is awful offensively...i love, love ariza, but he bogged down our offense for years now... several years of hardens prime we wasted on him.. hardens offense would explode with someone able to put ball on the floor and attack closeouts or create off the dribble playing alongside him...
more like a face of a man who's wondering where Harden is. This time last year they were playing pick up games.....
sideshow bob meyers says that the secret sauce to their exceptional success has been taking on only those players with superior intellect and bball IQ
Dont see why that dude thinks this is interesting. Houston was Melo's only preferred destination last summer, if i remember correctly.. why would that be drastically different when CP just resigned a 4-year deal and there's an open spot at the 3 or 4?
**** that, put some respek on his name. Ariza saved our asses even offensively in the playoffs by hitting huge 3's on multiple occasions over the years
false. if you're happy being eliminated even earlier then this is what you do and downgrade your defensive significantly to mediocre if you think the answer is to feature a aging melo. once again no thanks what exactly did they tear down. They replaced harrison barnes with KD. thats hardly tore anything down. They grabbed an mvp as an upgrade. you just repeated much of what has already been said. please someone post something new
you'll get a reality check soon and the impact defensively melo will have if hes projected as a starter and major minutes. By then there should be no b****ing or whining about how mediocre the defense is bc yall were the ones advocating for this.
You guys get more ridiculous by the minute. Ariza's durability, defense & efficiency w/ corner 3's was a MAJOR reason we were successful. Now that's he's gone you guys are crapping all over him. It's almost like you don't comprehend the value of anybody who's not a mega superstar. Superstars are superstars because of guys like Trevor, Luc, PJ & EG. The role players that work hard every possession are the reason guys like Harden & CP can flourish. You think Ariza bogged down our offense for years? lol. How exactly? He helped us WAY more than hurt us his whole tenure here
I personally love how people wipe away Ariza's defense by implying "it's just defense, anyone can do it." Ariza was Shane Battier level on his study of the game. He was a literal glue guy / floor general, keeping people contained and keeping both teams in the spaces and zones that we wanted them. And his on-ball defense on Durant was better than anyone else I've seen. Just because Durant still scored doesn't reflect on Ariza as much as on Durant.
What I hope happens is Melo wants 10m+ and the Rockets can't do it. They sit with CP3 and show them the team salary numbers and say you see this guy here, points at CP3 and then points at his HUGE contract numbers and says "this is the reasons we can't sign MELO."
Okay, I hear you. Even in his prime, Melo hasn’t been a plus defender. If we look back at the tape from the Olympics that’s pretty clear. But Melo can draw fouls, rebound, and carry a team with a hot stretch. If you can add all that for a cheap price, why not? We aren’t going to find a 3 and D player who can cover Durant. And Ariza was a super effort player but Durant had solved him. Melo gives you another weapon. At this stage of his career, he’s likely matching up with Draymond (for good or bad).
sounds good in a limited role, which from what i've seen so far is what is widely ideal for most of posters here. but the actual question that were all asking is will melo accept that? Theres telling signs he won't which is terrible for whatever team he is on
