Just pointing out that just like folks that are saying now "Ariza lost a step - we can replace him easily..." are the same folks that said "it doesn't matter how much we give up - those guys are scrubs who can easily be replaced..."

Well.... lets grab a couple PBev's and a few Lou Williams's... and we should be alright...
oh wait... we're signing MCW? but I thought PBev's and Lou's were a dime a dozen... yeh... I'm sure replacing Ariza will be no problem at all... smh...

I understand that African Americans can pull off some looks that average white boys cant... I could never wear orange - although I did dabble in the mustard/olive combo back in the day... but some of this stuff is just hideous!
Top pic... no... Hardens shirt is fine - but wth with the stripped capris? Looks like skinny jeans meets flood pants... lol PJ is just a trainwreck... doesn't know if he's trying out for the Brady 6 with the jumpsuit or The Walking Dead with the hat...
Bottom pic... Hardens outfit isn't bad... decent color combo... but PJ... again, did he raid his mother's closet? lol

I knew it was gonna be... but everybody was so sure that Tilman was just gonna blank check everything and spend a few hundred million in luxury taxes...
    Welcome to reality, folks... lol

Swag can help this team more than ISO Joe did last year. That’s for sure.

Bev and Lou were the cost to get CP3... which paid off handsomely. Do you think Ariza is worth 15 MM? I don't think anyone is saying MCW is better or even close to Ariza. But he was signed for the MINIMUM. And honestly, as much heart as Bev had, he wasn't THAT great. He played defense on a team of guys that wouldn't. But this current team has multiple guys that play defense so it's not all that bad now... The question is not how do you replace Ariza....... The question is how do you get better as a team... The answer is to find another way rather than pay Ariza 15MM.

I hear ya on cost efficiency - i'm all about that - that's why it kills me kickin CP3 40M/yr given his age and injury history... I thought we gave up quite a bit for the right to pay 4/160... but hey, I understand it, you gotta swing for the bleachers when you got a window...
Bev and Lou are like 5-8M...
I'm just waiting on these cutrate deals we were supposed to be getting from guys chasin a ring - guys who "want to play with Harden/CP3..."
The problem with low level signings is you have to ask yourself - will MDA even play them? lol

For the vet minimum, why not?

He can shoot. That should be good enough to qualify for an end of bench role.

So there are limits to what Tilman will spend (Ariza).

Morey hasn’t been able to trade Anderson.

The Rockets would rather not spend the MLE on Moute

The Rockets are waiting for the string of players that don’t get the payday they hoped for to sign veteran minimum deals.

Ring chasers think GS has a better chance than Hou next year.

Morey can make endless phone calls and be as creative as Jackson Pollock, but at the end of the day there are limits to what can be done.

The proof is in the pudding. Up 3-2 on the GOAT team when healthy. Quit complaining and trust Dork Elvis.

Dork Elvis also gave Ryan Anderson his contract, traded Beasley for squat, etc.. so aint nobody perfect...

    A) Last season was not a success - even if MDA considers it 'something to be cherished...' A lot of good things happened - #1 record, MVP, etc... a lot of optimistic signs for the future... but the goal is to win a championship - we did not - therefor it was not a success...

    B) I love how people keep qualifying their statements with 'when healthy' or 'if CP3 is healthy' etc... The guy has concerns staying healthy - has for years... it's not like his injury last year just struck out of the blue.... To paraphrase Denny Green - CP3 is who we thought he was... This is what we get with CP3 - a great player that might not make the long haul due to health concerns... this is something you factor into a guys value... same as if he were a talented headcase or something... so idk people keep acting like last year was an aberration and we should expect a healthy CP3 in the future..

If you are a healthy CP3 away from beating the greatest team of all time, that means something. It isn't meaningless. When is the last time CP3 missed a playoff game with injury before this last season? How many playoff games has he missed with injuries?

    I'll wait for it.

(The MOST amusing is thinking we could have gotten something for Michael F'ing Beasley. You don't think Daryl had a reason for getting rid of him? You seriously think it was because we LOVED Tyler Ennis? Come on man... You think Mike D'Antoni wanted that guy gone for no reason at all?)

He was valueless, and it is highly likely that he was puffing weed smoke in our young players faces daily and nightly. We gave him away because we wanted to give him away. Read between the lines. Listen to D'Antoni talk about Beasley in various interviews.

Paying Ariza the money he was looking for would not have made any sense. Sure, it won't be easy to replace him, but no point in having multiple bad contracts. I'm a huge Ariza fan, but I think it was time to move on from him.

Oh, I agree... I dont think we should have paid him 15M either... just pointing out the narrative that we were a lock to bring everybody back and improve from there was bs...
and that people saying Ariza is no loss and easily replaceable are incorrect...
