http://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...eycutt-dies-following-gunfire-exchange-police Former Rocket (never played an offical NBA game with us but was traded to us with Francisco Garcia and Thomas Robinson for Aldrich, Toney Douglas and Patrick Patterson): Former UCLA and Sacramento Kings basketball player Tyler Honeycutt has died following an exchange of gunfire with Los Angeles police Friday night. A family member on Saturday confirmed to KABC that Honeycutt had died. Honeycutt, 27, allegedly barricaded himself in a Sherman Oaks residence on Friday. Police came to the scene after his mother called to say Honeycutt was acting erratically. When police arrived, Honeycutt allegedly shot at the officers, who shot back. It was unclear whether Honeycutt shot himself or was shot by police. No officers were injured in the altercation, according to LAPD. Several residents in the area had been evacuated as a precaution. Honeycutt played for the Bruins from 2009 to 2011. He was a second-round pick by the Kings in the 2011 NBA draft and played in 24 games over two seasons before continuing his professional career overseas.
Very sad story. It's being discussed here, too: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/rip-tyler-honeycutt.292291/
I basically agree with you. But there are more than likely good people who loved him. I have compassion for them even if it's difficult to find compassion for Mr. Honeycutt at the moment.
I agree, I feel bad for his family and loved ones. Don’t get me wrong I feel bad for him as in going in the deep end but there’s never an excuse to take other people’s lives because of your own misery so thus I don’t have any compassion for him
Sad. Former Warrior dies as well. Sad. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...ors-first-round-pick-dies-heart-attack-age-45
In a roundabout way, that's probably true, and crossed my mind as well. Yet, we don't know what kind of crazy stuff he was up to. So crazy.
Or his mom stopped him from killing others or himself anyways. But yeah... sad situation. I wonder what could possibly make him go off the deep end like that? Drugs? Wonder what kind.
Very sad, but this former Rockets thing is ridiculous. It is like saying Derek Fisher is a former Rockets. I'm going to say most casual Rockets fan won't know that the guy that gave Shane Battier's bloody gash was a former Rockets.
Well, he did play for the Rio Grande Rockets team with Beverley and T.Jones. Even Royce White never played an NBA game with the Rockets but still considered a former Rocket.
