Cool story... let’s look at someone like lebron. How many people are millionaires from his brand? How many millionaires has he made? I’m in the military.... and my sacrifices>athletes. Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get paid what they do when they generate millions.

Last year when a survey was taken 27% of one group thought college athletes should be paid while 52% of another group did. I’ll let you take a guess which color the 27 and 52 were. The effort to downplay how difficult it is to become a professional athlete and make them look inferior compared to other American jobs is just another way to make it look like the black guys that can jump high are just “born that way” and should be happy America is paying them that much.

Lol not sure what this had to do with anything I said. I 100% agree college athletes should get paid. While I do agree athletes, actors, musicians all should make their millions. Cuz they have talent I could never achieve no matter how hard I practice or work on it. I think lately it has got to a point where the salaries are driving ticket prices through the roof, and I can no longer justify taking a family to a game. There needs to be more of a happy medium where the fans are directly impacted soo much.

I was just saying that not all professions are filthy rich.

You really are downplaying the level of drive and sacrifice one has to take in order to become as good as Capela or become NBA starters.

If Capela was good just because he was tall than Zhou Qi would be better. Since it doesn't work that way though you'll find it very hard to replace what Capela does for this team.

How many of those jocks in college made it to the NBA by the way?

You are also forgetting that just because someone is a 'Jock' doesn't automatically make them dumb.

Just because they go broke doesn't mean they could not have made it had they not played Sports. Give any 20 year old millions of dollars and see what they do with it. I'll tell you what I'd have done. Bought my dream car and show up at the playboy mansion, 100% most athletes go broke because they are earning millions while most people are struggling through college. They

This is his market value in this real world because there are not many Capela's walking around and the man has 10-15 years to make the most he can before his body breaks down, more power to him for wanting more.

I think people really underestimate how hard it is to get 'talented' that don't happen overnight.

I mean if you narrow it to a specific position, sure. especially if you’re going outside of professional fields. But those top bureaucrats could be banking it as contractors if they were that special.

Grade teach? Probably not. But top educators include people like Neil Tyson.

Anyways my point is he’s of the .1% in his field. In my field, sales, those people are making BILLIONS. I find it silly when people try and poopoo athletes for their salaries, when the top people in their trade are likely banking.

Just for the record I have no problem with people making as much as they can. That's the beauty of this country and the free market. I simply made the point that these guys who have a very limited set of skills are walking a thin line of not being in the league for a myriad of reasons and where that narrow skill set does not earn you much outside of the league, maybe a school coach? The bottom line is many of these players throw hissy fits (ahem - Isaiah Thomas) when they don't get that max dollar and next thing you know you're injured and looking at a vet min contract or out all together. Bottom line, there seems to be a huge lack of gratitude amongst players out there even after cashing in on ridiculous sums of money for just 2 - 3 years of work. I'm just saying be grateful.

Clint needs to look at guys like Noel and Dmo, 15 mill per is fair value for his talents at this point. If he feels like he deserves more then sign a 2 or 3-year deal and get your money after you've proven more.

I'm told Clint Capela felt he had very little value in the series vs the Warriors.

Capela only played one good season, and he asks max contract? lol.

Without playmakers of Harden and CP3, Capela's value will be greatly dropped.

    Overrated.

After the rumor that Phoenix may offer Capela the max, him and his agent ran with that. Now Capela thinks he should get all this money even though he’s not a maximum player. He still gets taken out of games, still gets pushed around in the paint, doesn’t have a jump shot and is terrible at shooting free throws. Wake the f***** up.

Elite low balling if true. Given his playoff performances against Wolves, Jazz.

No. Morey would give on salary and years before adding a player option.

"You should take less than your industry-specific worth because I've assessed your intellect from my couch and determined you'd be A Poor in the real world" is certainly a hot take.

That’s not low balling, that’s his market value. RFA is unfair to players, is Capela worth a little more...sure but he isn’t worth the max. Teams only take care of superstars.
