I must turn the Woj notifications off my phone if it's going to wake me up at 4 am for trades like this.
Just about the most useless trade of the year so far.

This makes the Hornets trade even worse as Biyombo makes about 1 million more then Mozgof.

Essentially the Hornets saved about 1.8 million this upcoming season from trading Howard (who took a 18.8 million buyout).

Hornets traded 1.8 million for this upcoming season for 17 million next year for Biyombo.

    About useless as useless gets....

What are the salary ramifications for this? Does any one save money or take on money or shed money?

    Is there a winner?

@Vivi: Are these 3 of the franchises that make your "worst ran" list along with the Kings & Suns? :D

The Magic save a little money and probably see Jerian Grant as some sort of backup Point Guard. Bulls can waive Stone, non-guaranteed contract. Hornets? Don't know, maybe Biyombo as Dwight's replacement. They drafted Biyombo back in 2011.

Man....let's go back to a solid top 6, in random order:

Kings, Knicks, Bulls, Magic, Charlotte and Suns.

Bobby Marks: Here is the breakdown for the Charlotte, Chicago and Orlando trade: The Bulls acquire the $1.65M non-guaranteed contract of Julyan Stone that has a August 1 guaranteed date. If Stone is waived, the cap space for Chicago will increase to $16M in room (if the Noah Vonleh hold is released). For Charlotte, Bismack Biyombo is under contract for the next two years with a cap hit of $17M per season. The Hornets now have $120.3M in salary and are $3.4M under the tax with 14 guaranteed contracts. Orlando gets much needed guard help with the $2.69M expiring contract of Jerian Grant. Like Biyombo, Timofey Mozgov has two years left with a cap hit of $16M and $16.7M.

The kind of trade you see the CPU GMs make in NBA2K for the sake of making a trade.

We've refused so far to pay to move him. People think we would do anything to move him, but obviously that's not the case.

biyombo for mozgov. what a time to be alive. this is the "last call" hook-up of nba trades.

how do these trade talks even get started? wanna trade equally worthless players with trash contracts? sure, but do you think we can get a 3rd team involved for no real reason? chicago here!

I’d be surprised Silver allows this. This sets precedent for so many things
