This is really great. And i totally agree about Hartenstein; way more athletic than i remember. I know it's only one game, but really had very little expectations about him this year, and he looked like a young NBA big with some upside. Very pleasantly surprised. Also, i know it's only one game, but i do think we've got to get Duval on a 2-way or something. It's clear to me that the talent is worth betting on at the very least. If he gets snatched that would be unfortunate. Hunter and Zhou Qi, and Onuaku are all players Houston should consider moving on from. First game of summer league is always the sloppiest, but i'm excited for Sunday and Monday!
So, instead of LeBron, we'll see Cp3, Harden and Melo at the gym on Sunday? Would be awesome if Butler or Leonard could join
Nice call. I believe you are spot on. Just game 1 of summer league: Hartenstein-looks like he can give the Rockets backup mins behind Capela & In front of Nene. Jordan Bell mins eventually. Melton- showed promise. Like you, I have heard Melton shot well at the combine and impressed Harden/CP3 in the Drew league. Hoping it’s nervousness, with real game action after a year off.......outside of pickup games. He shot a few clunkers today. Duval- looked poised. D House- looked good to me. His NBA stats (from 3) have not been good; but his G-league stats have been good from three: Del 16/17: ..........7 games/ 4.6 (3PA)/ 40.6% (3P%) NA Suns 17/18: 20 games/ 7.2 (3PA)/ 42.0% (3P%) RGV 17/18: ......15 games/ 7.2 (3PA)/ 34.3% (3P%) https://www.basketball-reference.com/gleague/players/h/houseda01d.html If Nunnally is better than House......sign up Nunnally yesterday. Qi- needs another year. Edwards- jury is still out, but I’m not expecting much more than G-league player. Nanu- Decent G-league player. Hunter- looks the same as in year one. Under achieving. Markel Brown- probably not bettter than Melton/Duval
I don’t see anything in rj hunter. Duval May never be anything but I’d rather gamble on his upside than rj
really wish they gave Adel a chance to play, this guy and Rob Gray can light it up! hopefully next game.
It's on the first page of the link. Use desktop settings, not mobile. Under the summer league banner there's a space that says enter promo code. Hopefully it still works because it's supposed to be a presale.
I don't think so, but the basketball culture in the US is very different. My feeling is that playing in China taught him some basics, which is good. The speed of the game remains too slow there. Perhaps he can't get much faster due to genetics either. I do think he might be able to reach Ryan Anderson's athletically. He needs to put in a lot of hard work. It will be a pity, if he doesn't reach his potential. Zhou is quite talented.
IMO, there is no chance at Duval not living up to the hype. If he continues his progression he will be one of the best players coming out of this draft.
Would that be Yi Jianlian? He was just tall I believe. Thought to be quick near the rim. Never really good at shooting for distance or around the rim. Yao was slower but could shoot well and had touch around the rim. Qi might start hitting the 3 now that he settles down to adjust to the speed of the NBA. I feel he has been told how fast the NBA is and over-psyched himself (trying to go too fast). Sorry, I’m not buying that Thon Maker who is listed as 7’1” and 216 pounds by basketball-reference.com is much stronger than Zhou Qi who is listed as 7’1” and 210 pounds. Thon has an inside track on Qi years wise due to facing tougher competition over the years while living in America. I believe the competition is better organized and readily available. So probably a skills difference. So just my opinion, Qi is still a year away from showing us what he’s got for the long haul. Many would argue that it takes 3 yrs to develop rookies. After 3 yrs of Terrence Jones and D-Mo inconsistency’s..... I can’t argue with that. I pulled out all my hair in those years.
