I dont understand the people so against this as if using the MLE on 31 year old injury prone bench journeyman Luc Mah Bootay and Gerald Green as his back up is a better option. I'd rather take a chance on Melo as our 3 with Luc backing him up and Green there as the 3rd bench spark plug. I'd take any one of those comparisons at 34 years old as our starting SF/PF on this team.
Yeah but it's indirectly talking about it. He was sent off to Oklahoma....and I'd be willing to bet that I could find one of my buddies who would rather go back to Iraq or Afghanistan for a year than be stuck in Oklahoma for a year. On top of that, his role was diminished and his play suffered stuck on the team with Westbrook. So yeah, he was away from family stuck in flyover country with a diminished role and with his play suffering due to being on a team with Westbrook....that's pretty much NBA hell.
The good thing is Melo can switch the same as Ryno, and I think this is the first team he's been on a team that switches everything, and playing with the Rockets will cover up some of his defensive woes, especially with Capella hopefully returning. Melo is also a better defender down low and rebounder. I think its better to have him than not to have him.

No way the Lakers can guarantee Melo a starting position.. His natural position at 1st.. and They won't resign him next year.. if Kawhi coming over.. I bet Houston sign him to a solid deal.
I have mixed feelings about Melo. What if he tried to get D'Antoni fired again? What if he won't accept a lineup where Luc and Tucker start ahead of him? What if his shot is super streaky and overall he's no better than Gerald Green??
Exactly. I think ppl really think we have go to offense. Paul and Harden are the only guys who can create shots out of nothing. Gordon can’t. Tucker. Ariza. Capela. Etc. At least Melo can score. He lit up Ariza every time they played this year. We need consistent scorers.
Seriously..once again....OKC was the farthest thing away from the well oiled machine/TEAM that we were....His talents/what he has left in the tank were hidden big time....trying to put a square peg in a round hole. Melo will have already been paid once he gets here...He will be playing with friends, for a title. As a Rocket, Melo will have CP3 and James.....It will be much closer to Olympic Melo than most imagine...All in the flow. As to what he gets paid.....vet minimum. It should be obvious what we are building.
If he somehow ends up here god I hope it’s off the bench. Bring back Luc and Clint Sign Melo.. 7th man
