I bet we wouldn't even have to include a pick if we took Ross instead of Simmons. He's a career 37% shooter, long, athletic, and could fit our switching D concept. Could be executed like this: Ariza S&T to PHX, nominal considerations from PHX to ORL, Ross to HOU Then trade Ryno for Biyombo PHX gets their guy We take on more salary this year, but get useful role players and break up Ryno's deal into more digestible chunks ORL offloads a bunch of salary this year to potentially make a move in free agency
Can't execute S&T with Ariza because his contract is not 3 years. We're going to have to figure something out with Ryno but I don't think this does it. As an aside we picked up MCW for size, D and ball handling to have 3rd creator behind CP3, EGo instead of a rookie. It just gives us more flexibility at the end of the bench to be able to reduce minutes. He might get 5-10 minutes at most every few games in brief spurts. More time with Gordon, PG3, and Harden linups with the Tuckwagon. D'Antoni left our starters in too long and played them more games than he wanted because we saw in blowouts how the bench completely sucked in garbage minutes and teams made comebacks. With him we can still run the PNR in those situations and protect leads. Never can have enough 3&D wings or ball handlers so I think as a 3rd string PG he works for the minimum.
No, Ariza signed a 1yr contract. By rule a SNT has to be at a minimum of 3yrs. There is no deal to be made. Believe me I want to do that as well for some asset using the 12.7M traded player exception. To make it work, Ariza would have to agree to a 3yr contract with the last two years nonguaranteed which is doubtful he would do. Per BimaThug.
I literally just outlined a way to make a sign-and-trade work and amenable to us, Phoenix, and Ariza. Ariza hasn't officially signed anything yet, so it is possible. Remember that we agreed to terms with Ariza in 2014, then turned the transaction into a sign-and-trade where we got a pick for sending Asik to NOP. So there is precedence here.
Biyombo is only being included as the salary matching piece for Anderson’s contract. The Rockets would be making the trade to get Terrence Ross.
If Washington Wizards are struggling as well as the Rockets do you think they take a package for Eric Gordon 2 first for Otto Porter. with us unloading suns players now and Nene. Getting back Markieff Morris for outside shooting? Shake things up a bit. I think he is the perfect replacement to patch up the Ariza Lost, we dont need jimmy butler, we have scoring. I think there Kelly Oubre is ready to take the mins and gordon would be great as there 6th man. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ydyzqde6
Gordon and two 1st rounder almost net us Butler and you want to trade that for Porter? Come on bro...that's way too much. And you would still be forced to add more salary there, probably Knight.
sans Jimmy Butler, i don't think there's a trade that is gonna change the trajectory of our team. the time to configure the roster properly was the offseason. This is a team that will make the playoffs, but GS will coast to their 4th championship.
Scoring??? Have you been watching any Rockets game? Only 2 teams in the WCF score less points than us GRIZZ AND SUNS WE suck on offense Have you seen the new Mid range Melo game? Have you seen MCW? EG? The guy we refused to include for butler?
