They'd rather join them. Players don't want to really compete anymore if they don't have to. Looking at Golden State first. Also, from a player's perspective I don't gather that we are seen as the top threat to Golden State. Players around the league seem to favor OKC, Boston, Lakers and Sixers.
just pointing out the stupidity of the narrative that has run rampant on this board for the last couple years... where guys like Bev and Lou Williams really 'don't matter' and can be 'traded away without a second thought' because all these great players were gonna flock to the Rockets on cheap deals to chase a ring, and they want to play with Harden and of course get their numbers inflated by that explosive MDA genius offense... just another bs narrative created by the shortsighted looking through things through their Rockets red tinted glasses... lol and for those that want to point out CP3 as proof of this happening... he also just got 160M without any sweetheart deal - so there's that...
Nope, didnt say that... just saying the assets we've given up do/did have value... as opposed to people contending that they were just fodder that didnt matter...
PJ and LMM both came here on cheap deals. But this summer we're not really seeing that. The pool is a bit limited as well. A bunch of them just went to LA even though most of those guys aren't really anyone I'd think Houston would want though
This is true. Luc was atrocious in the playoffs. But I refuse to believe a player could be THAT crucial to our success during the regular season, fall off that bad if not only due to a serious injury. He was INJURED. I think MDA screwed up playing him that last game and it backfired. Luc is crucial to our success. If we lose Ariza at the expense of depending more on a healthy Luc, then it may be a WIN for us. Health Luc>>>>Swaggy
Luc was a beast during the regular season for us often times being a key plus minus guy. He also shot pretty well from 3 and was basically a 60% shooter from 2. Then he got hurt and his numbers fell when he came back. Then he got rolling again and got hurt AGAIN in that last game. He admitted to still having pain but more importantly he admitted to thinking about the injury during the games. He was cooked. Part of me does wonder whether this will impact him long term now.
Young is not better than Luc, it’s not even close...Luc is better and far more valuable if we spend the MLE on Swaggy P of all people then I’m done...Morey says we’ll have the pick of free agents and then signs MCW and Swaggy after losing Ariza...that’s a seismic level flop Luc was horrible in the playoffs for obvious reasons, he was injured...
For the minimum I wouldn't mind it I guess. If we're looking to continue shooting 50 3s a game I could think of worse options.
I don't want this cokehead anywhere near the Rockets unless he's signing for the minimum, and he knows he's only getting 10 minutes a night.
