I did not expect any here to follow suit. I was told about this and looked it up and was curious what the reaction would be. It has gone about what I expected. I imagine people from both sides get fed up and "walk away" all the time. Without social media, we would never know about it. It also wouldn't surprise me if some of the people who supposedly "walked away" were never there to begin with and posted to just make it look like the movement is bigger than it truly is.
In 2018 what is there for Democrats to be fed up with regarding their party? In 2016 I could see being upset with Hillary as the nominee. There are things to not be happy with regarding the Democrats. Not happy with some of the leadership's stale outdated way of doing things makes sense. Not being happy with an inability to make the changes that they want to make makes sense. The Republicans have abandoned science, elected human corruption, have a leader that can't tell the truth, can't negotiate on the world stage, have a leader that doesn't like American allies, loves dictators, and wants to be an authoritarian himself. I could understand why they would be fed up with the party.
I guess that just depends on if you happen to be as fringe left as the party has become. If you are anything approaching a moderate the embrace of the wack jobs on the fringes should be concerning.
And I think... The closer each sides get to the center, I can see people on each side walk away. If serious, do a serious job. Ref serious data. Until then, not too interesting.
Have you never heard of Never-Trumpers? I was driven from the right. My dad was driven from the right (he was a solid Republican voter for 30 years). The Republican party is moving all over the place. They depend on fear of change and fear of what is different to really succeed. Oh and tax cuts, people like tax cuts, but they also like government services, so that causes a lot of problems.

Dude, the gigs up. By the way, no liberal would ever encourage people to walk away from liberalism because of what a Politician did - any more than a conservative would walkaway from conservative ideals because of what Trump does every day.
It’s not just what the politicians did, it’s the entire direction of the party. It’s claiming the moral high ground and then as a group, being immoral. It’s the non-stop hypocracy and claiming hate, bigotry and racism when no evidence exists just because someone has a different opinion. The left has driven people like Candice Owens and Dave Rubin completely away from the Democratic Party. I voted straight Democrat last presidential election and voted for Obama twice. I’m sure you’ll do what the left does and call me a liar simply because you don’t like the message. I still hold many progressive views but what used to be progressive has come under attack by the new left. When people like Steven Pinker come under attack from the left for not being left enough, I know I’ve had enough. I’ve always been more liberal on social issues an more libertarian on economic issues. But now the left openly campaigns on restricting my individual rights and attacks everyone as racist, bigots and immoral when they don’t agree with them. That’s why I #walkaway regardless if you believe it or not. That’s why more are walking away today.

The difference between you and I is that I will call people like Trump out as an immoral jack ass who should stay off Twitter. Steve Bannon is alt-right and has basically been ostracized from the party. He has no redeemable qualities. He has zero influence in the party today. The left (which is not the same as liberals anymore IMO) is full of high profile people calling for violence and either being defended or championed by the base as well as the leadership. You would have a difficult time putting together a video of so many high profile activists for the Conservative party acting like the high profile left activists are acting in the left unhinged video. Can you imagine the out rage from the left of those videos had happened 8 years ago and were aimed at President Obama? And just to be clear, the out rage would have been warranted.
Also who in the democratic leadership is condoning physical violence? I know the president has (you know the leader of your party.) Here just for you.
