I agree with this. The best way to solve the Ryan Anderson contract situation is to trade him for a player on a similar bad deal that could actually contribute/fit our system. We'd still likely have to throw in a pick or two, but that's the best way to not be completely raked over the coals.

All of those guys are solid options. Carroll is in his last year though so I don't see anybody wanting to take on Anderson for him without lots of picks or young prospects.

Man I wanna hear that conversation.

Morey: I know you're a All-Star caliber player, healthy, and looking for a big payday next year but we're gonna have you come off the bench. Cool?

    Either Jimmy or KLove +

    Melo at the minimum.

The Rockets are going to operate above the cap for seasons to come once they match Capela’s offer. If Charlotte or Washington want out of Porter or Batum’s deals at the cost of only Ryan Anderson, who is unplayable against the Warriors, it’s a win-win for both teams.

It’s not a win for Tillman. And for that reason alone. The trades won happen.

The cost and tax not worth it for those two.

The Rockets aren’t going to be under the cap this season or next, and in 2020-2021, they’ll have nearly $100 million committed to only Harden, CP3 and Capela. If Charlotte is willing to do a straight up Batum for Anderson swap, it’s worth doing.

I didn’t say the Rockets would do it. However, both deals would make the Rockets better, especially against the Warriors.

The main point I’m trying to make is dumping Anderson will not create cap space for the Rockets during the CP3, Harden and Capela era. They are better off trading him for another player with a bad contract that is a better fit against the Warriors.

    Would this be possible?

    Timberwolves get:
    Eric Gordon
    PJ Tucker
    Zhou Qi
    Future 1st round pick

    Houston gets:
    Jimmy Butler

Where is this trade rumor coming from? It works but is this even a trade that's being discussed?

A buddy sent it to me. I haven't heard anything elsewhere. I doubt it's even being discussed but I want to believe that it could happen before the trade deadline.

Twolves can do better. 1st round pick is a 2nd round pick since Rockets 1st round pick is #30.

And my point is that... the money that small upgrade would cost would not be worth it... especially not for the owner.

Best 3 options available that are comparable to what Trevor Ariza gave us...

Ariza was 6'8", a great defender, shot 83 out of 185 (45%) on corner threes, & shot 83 out of 256 (32%) on all other threes.

Option 1: Treveon Graham is 6'6"with a 6'11" wingspan, a good defender, shot 15 of 34 (44%) on corner threes, & shot 23 of 54 (43%) on all other threes. He is available for a cheap contract.

Option 2: Vincent Edwards is 6'8" with a 7'0" wingspan, a good defender, shot 4 out of 5 (80%) on NBA corner threes, & shot 47 out of 122 (39%) on all other NBA range threes. We gave Utah money to draft this guy for a reason.

Option 3: Gary Clark is 6'8" with a 6'10" wingspan, a great defender, shot 3 out of 9 (33%) on NBA corner threes, & shot 24 out of 53 (45%) on all other NBA range threes. He is a 2x AAC DPOY, 14th all-time in NCAA career offensive rebounds, 5th all-time in NCAA career offensive rating, led the NCAA in defensive rating last season, led the NCAA in defensive win shares last year, & lead the NCAA in +/- last year. We already signed him. He has been mentored by Chris Paul for years...

Bring back Moute for cheap. If can get Carmelo for cheap...cool. If not, roll with one or two of these guys.

Honestly I wasn’t thinking Melo was still an option (because of his defense), but it makes sense as to what Houston may be doing.

Personally the MCW signing makes no sense to me. Other than his height I struggle with him being added.
I can see Morey wanting a bought out Melo. Tucker playing more SF.
