For small forward???? No thanks. This would be a major disappointment.

Cutting him is not a choice. He's good enough to be on the bench and not play.

Yeah, I'm guessing the number of players on our roster that can create their own offense is 3. Wouldn't hurt to have one or two more.

I think Bazemore is the fallback if a more preferable option doesn't come through. They may have already agreed to the trade, which is why they let Ariza walk.

I'm convinced they wouldn't let Ariza go unless they had a suitable, highly likely deal on the table. If they didn't, then this is all just window dressing to save the Rockets $$$. As things stand, I'm going to assume that a deal is already available and the Rockets are holding out for something better.

They let Ariza walk because he was offered 15 million dollars and I think the Rockets were hesitant to offer Trevor a multi year deal.

It's too bad we didn't have space to give Trevor his due.

His absence already shows how he's missed. Let's just forget all the posts wanting to dump his ass for picks and lerbon james

Exactly, but you don't just look at that in a vacuum. What are your alternatives, and what are their costs? It's not like you can just ignore the current hole at SF and hope it goes away.

To be clear, trading for Bazemore is about killing 2 birds with 1 stone...i.e. filling our hole at SF and unloading Anderson.

I’ve said it before that that I think Morey has got the word via Chris Paul that the Thunder and Melo will reach a buyout deal and Morey is saving the MLE for Melo.

Problem is Atlanta is looking for young assets since they are in full fledged rebuilding mode.

Certainly a possibility. The MLE would help cover whatever he gives up. Tucker moves to the 3. I still think Anderson would be moved, and you need another defensive wing or 2 to allow our switching D to function.

Atlanta would probably get a 1st and perhaps Zhou. They wouldn't get a better deal on the market.

One thing that just came to mind... Whatever we do, we ought to put EGo in the best possible situation to shine during the first half of the year. We need his value to peak at the deadline if we're going to do a deal that he's involved in.

I think Luc will be retained for that very purpose. I don’t think Luc will leave and somehow his buddy Paul will convince him to stay

Melo is not going to agree to a buyout. If not anything he'll be stretched and then sign with us or the Lakers for the minimum; hell maybe even the Warriors. Melo's not leaving money on the table. He doesn't give a **** about winning as it is

    OP mentions Khris Middleton.

If that happened, I’d cry tears of unadulterated joy.

I know it ain’t happening. FFS.

I'm actually in on Nunnally. This is the perfect sort of signing we need.
