We don't have Jason Terry to be the "superstar mediator", or to use his loud voice in Denver to tell Dwight to stop complaining to the front row. Also, JSmoov would need to be in the locker room to tell Dwight to pick and roll for the oop. Dwight wanted to sit pretty on the left block, and Kevin Mchale allowed it. (JB inherited the mess...don't get me started lol. Sorry for the petty.
The only Monopoly piece Dwight is missing from the Southeast is Miami. It's always that one damn piece that keeps me from the Super Nintendo bundle....
So JMG is JaMychal Green but we have to take back Chandler for him? TC is Tyson Chandler? No idea who Kelly is or Court... "a friend is not feeling so great about the long haul"- does that mean Nene might be traded?
DWIGHT HOWARD COACH KILLER... via Sports Illustrated: Most alarming for Brooks, though, is Howard’s uncanny ability to blow up his head coaches. Check out this astonishing track record. • Magic: Howard leaves in 2012; Stan Van Gundy is fired in 2012 • Lakers: Howard leaves in 2013; Mike D’Antoni is fired in 2014 • Rockets: Howard leaves in 2016; Kevin McHale is fired in 2015 and interim J.B. Bickerstaff is not retained in 2016 • Hawks: Howard leaves in 2017; Mike Budenholzer leaves in 2018 • Hornets: Howard leaves in 2018; Steve Clifford is fired in 2018 All told, Howard is on his sixth team in the past eight seasons and his six previous coaches all left those teams during his final season or within one year of Howard’s departure. There are two overlapping explanations for that reign of terror: 1) He’s incredibly difficult to manage, and 2) He’s become a last-ditch option for desperate organizations. Either way, eek. https://www.si.com/nba/2018/07/05/n...es-lakers-warriors-rockets-winners-and-losers
Damn! I knew it was something close to that but I had never actually straight up went down the line. That is staggering and mostly says that an organization brings him in and expects to be a contender but he drags the team down and when he leaves the price for the lost assets and the decision to keep him falls on the coach. It should also be noted that with the exception of the Rockets he spelled lottery doom for several seasons after for every team that acquired him.
Dwight Howard rings-wise will end up exactly the same as Ron Howard. Who cares about stats? He's the most divisive locker-room presence I've ever seen in nearly half a century of watching the NBA. Howard is a known team-killer who already torpedoed an entire promising Rockets season just TWO YEARS AGO, yet some people here want him back. Amazing.
I don’t want him back. I suppose I would leave up to Morey to have him back on a minimum contract. I was saying stat wise because it’s just plain weird to have the stats he does and still not going to be considered much as a great player.
Yeah, didn't mean to make it sound like YOU wanted him back. Lots of people around here do, though. He'll be a first-ballot HOFer for sure. One of the greatest physical talents the league has ever seen. Much like T-Mac, Dwight's career will be looked back on as what-could-have-been more than what-actually-was.
