He's essentially a replacement for Joe Johnson at this point. Not gonna get much playing time etc. He's got to be better than AaRon Jackson as well. Don't see him as integral part of this team unless we have some injuries etc.

Don’t really see a negative... he’s better than Weber, Brown and Jackson.

At least he is a solid defender with length and good passing ability. And for the minimum it’s as low a risk as possible.

I don't see the downside of signing him with the minimum for a year. He is still young, a big guard, and has played for some pretty lame organizations trying to lose - the Sixers and Bulls, and then those crazy Jason Kidd Bucks teams with Kidd's nonsensical defensive strategies. The odds are he is still a scrub but you gotta take chances like this to make waves - the minimum is worth a risk to see if he may be useful down the road. FWIW, people thought Eric Gordon was done(for different reasons) before Houston took a chance on him and that worked out pretty well. I don't see the same luck with MCW, but it's a low risk, high reward move so you gotta take that chance.

 

I think this is a great move. When CP3 went down we really lacked a 2nd ball handler and it forced Harden to play more than he should.

Harden will have to play more than he should with MCW in the lineup on offense.

Unless he magically improves to a 29-30% shooter from the 3, and even that is a stretch lol, teams arent going to defend him out on the perimeter.. That extra man will be on Harden.

 

Hell, for that matter we could sweeten the pot by throwing in a future Hall of Famer.

he's a worthy 3rd string PG. can't beat the price. fits our defensive scheme. don't play unless paul is out. no splash but not terrible either.
