Butler reportedly wants to play with Irving, who reportedly told Ainge that he won't sign an extension. (Lots of "reports!") That seems unlikely, given that both have a year left on their deals. What I found interesting was the quote below from Butler. I know some view him as a problem, but what Butler says about the T-Puppies actually makes sense. Hope this hasn't been posted yet. He would be a good fit with the Rocks, in my opinion. From the Chicago Sun-Times: “I just don’t think there have been many people that have understood how important winning is to me, man,’’ Butler told the Sun-Times in late April. “I just had a conversation about that very thing with somebody – not important who – but I put so much into this game and I only play to win. I don’t play for any individual stats or accolades, any of that. And at times I get lost in how everybody is not built the way that I’m built. “The same with [Minnesota coach] Thibs [Tom Thibodeau]. People don’t understand that he puts so much time into his craft. He understands what it takes. But sometimes I just look around and I don’t understand how or why you all don’t love to get better the way that I do.’’ https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports...uld-have-plans-to-try-and-take-over-the-east/
Someone will have to kill Thibs if you want Minny to trade Butler. Not gonna happen while Thibs is around. The contract that Minny should want to get rid of is Wiggins.
What worries me the most is if Kyrie tells Boston if you want to keep me go get Jimmy and they make it happen with a Jaylen Brown package
Butler doesn't like how nonchallant his younger teammates are and how they don't play D. And he wants to play with Kyrie? Kyrie the woke? LMAO
Let them. They can't pay all that. It will be like 4 players paid over 30 million each. Plus there is only one ball.
I'm willing to take a chance and trade for a year of him, and hope to convince him to stay. The key is getting him in a Rockets uniform first.
Yeah, these rumors of "player x want to play with player y" are old farts at this point, i've seen this so many times...the last one? Lebron and Chris Paul want to play together.
I really don’t think getting rid of EG for butler is going to be as great as people think but ehhh... I guess so.
(I changed the link in the original post to point to the actual source -- Chicago Sun-Times -- rather than the aggregator -- Bleacher Report.) I don't know if the Rockets have enough to get Butler, but there is no question they are seeking a third star. I can guarantee they've even made calls about Kawhi, even if they go nowhere. It's just what they do.
I don't mind acquiring Jimmy Butler, but Morey is gonna have to get his ass on that before the Lakers do.
