In Tad's defense, he said if you're ready to compete then stay home. Ryan Anderson was clearly not ready to compete last year.
This reminds of the Clutchfans meltdown after Morey tweeted about the race of his arms and obsession with GSW..
This happens almost every year. Every team dives head first into the free agency market and we hear very little from the Rockets. Then once everyone has spent their money, the Rockets sign the guy that everyone forgot to a minimum deal. Also, it's not unusual to see a trade come out of nowhere this time of year. The Rockets are clearly waiting on something, or somethings. An example would be Jimmy Butler. The wolves are supposedly going to offer him a 4 year $110 million extension. If he declines, then there could be an immediate trade market for him. If you've done anything prior to that event that compromises your flexibility, then you're out of the running, or you've compromised the integrity of the roster. With Butler, we know we would need to trade Gordon. If you use the MLE before you know where things are with Butler, then you've lost the one asset you had to replace Gordon's production. Let's review the facts. The Rockets have a giant hole at 3&D wing. There are no legitimate starting 3&D caliber players on the free agent market. It stands to reason that they will replace Ariza via trade, and not just that, but that they feel good they can get a deal done, otherwise they wouldn't have let him walk. I am not saying we're getting Jimmy Butler...but there is no doubt a plan that gets us a better player than Ariza.
usually he just quells the uneasy masses under feigen's pen name. that's how you know this time shiits for real we aint gettin no one
We were never gonna make a big splash if LeBron didn't want to come here. Let the big free agent dust settle, then try to make some moves. That's pretty much what I always expected. Losing Ariza certainly did hurt though.
or maybe he reads this board and don't want to be responsible for members losing their collective **** because we couldn't acquire Seth Curry.
I love that Tab Brown posted that. I am guessing between the Cousins GSW signing and Feigen's article crowning GSW as champions again (the article title was aggressive and it now appears to have been changed and Feigen's initial tweet has been deleted) that got Tad motivated to tweet that. Clint, and Moute not tagged because they are FAs Anderson, Tucker and Green aren't on twitter.
What looks sad is us saying "run it back". GSW is like, naaaaaah, we are adding Cousins. No running it back. That opportunity is gone. Not even mentioning Ariza.
