Seems like I get to type this same response every day. Without Anderson's contract, we would still have zero cap space.
LMAM has a huge reason to go to Philly primarily b/c of Embiid. He's his mentor and brought him to the league. We need to lock Luc up fast
Trevor just signed with Phoenix to be stuck behind Jackson, money matters, especially for a guy like Luc that never got paid, hopefully he signs here but if the Sixers offers him way more money i expect him to be gone.
Here's my question in all of this: Has Luc gotten surgery to fix his dislocated shoulder yet? If the answer is no and the asking price is more than the vet minimum, I let him walk. I might have been on a posting tear the past 24 hours, injecting witty banter into multiple threads, but in all seriousness I've dislocated my shoulder playing basketball before and it's never the same again without surgery. And IIRC this happened on his shooting shoulder which is many times worse because you don't really get that same feel/coordination again.
Yeah it doesn’t seem like winning 65 games together meant much to these guys. Gerald is the only exception be he was the number one priority at midnight on Saturday
Who knows what the Rockets are up to now a days. Not much being said, unless I am missing it since it's buried in other threads.
I think Gerald (assuming he had better offers which seems likely) left some money on the table just because he's from Houston, otherwise he would've left too.
What math are you using where getting rid of Ryan Anderson's contract generates cap space while we still have current cap holds on Chris Paul and Clint Capela?
Except that it’s not. How can you not understand that the Rockets are over the cap regardless of Anderson’s salary?
Our current committed salary is $117m. Capela's cap hold is $7m. We currently have 2 empty roster spots so that's an additional $1.66m against the cap. Add up all of that up and we are at $125.66m. Now subtract Anderson's $20m from that amount. You're at $105.66m. The salary cap is $101m. So without Anderson's contract, we are still $4m over the cap. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/houston-rockets/cap/ Understand?
Seems like a leak from Luc's camp. Morey probs offering non bird rights contract and they want that MLE
I hear you, but for me personally I care. After the Rockets lost their best lengthy utility defender in Ariza it becomes more important for them to retain Luc and get him healthy.
If I'm a free agent, I'd be looking to go east. I'm surprised we haven't seen more players do this. Much easier route to the finals.
That "article" is written by some local 247 author with no connections whatsoever. He didn't even cite "sources." Just throwing stuff out there to see what sticks.
