Would LOVE to see Rodney Hood and Wayne Ellington.
    Just a wish list. . .

Losing Trev will definitely sting. He was fantastic in the locker room and a hell of a defender. As long as we bring back Luc and can sign someone like Ennis to fill his spot we will be just fine.

This is a good point but it assumes a couple things. First it assumes the Rockets can find a team to absorb Anderson’s contract without giving a big contract back. A lot of teams are highly motivated to move salary like OKC so the cost may be too high.
Second it assumes that the owner is willing to pay the luxury tax to the degree it would cost. With the Rockets letting Ariza walk away for 1/15 I really question how big a tax Tilman is willing to pay.
Having said that, your point is a good one. The Rockets hypothetically could spin Anderson and draft picks into Wilson Chandler and others.

No not yet but they may look to trade or renounce his rights. Redick will not come cheap I don’t think

OKC is in a tough spot. They have 4 large deals ( WB, George, Adam's and Anthony). Everyone else makes $10m or less.

The obvious move is to get rid of Anthony but he still has his no trade option so no way he's going to someplace like Chicago.

Morey should move Anderson plus two firsts to Atlanta or Sacramento without taking salary back. We could create that $20m trade exception to target more wings. We have a hole at starting SF and PF. I was thinking first we lock up Capela on a 3 yr $50-60m deal, next we sign Seth Curry with the MLE. Next we worry about our SF and PF spots. Rumors about melo being bought out is fantastic for the rockets as we can get him to come here for the minimum unless LaLa convince him to go to LA with LeBron. Let’s say we get Melo. We still need a starting 3, i say get Cleveland to sign hood to a 1yr $10m or 2yr $16m deal and trade for him using the exception. Use the rest of the trade exception at the deadline or trade for dedmon. Convince LMM to come back and our roster looks like this:

    Cp3/Curry/Melton
    Harden/Gordon/Green
    Hood/Tucker/Green
    Melo/LMM/Tucker
    Capela/Dedmon/Nene

I don't know about using two 1sts to eventually end up with a Rodney Hood.

I really want another shocking acquisition, like last years'. It was absolutely INCREDIBLE hearing CP3 was coming to Houston last year, totally unexpected and not even on the radar for me. I'm really hoping Morey makes another splash like that for this offseason.

Other than that, even if we don't acquire anyone emphatically new, one thing I want for sure: GET RID OF ANDERSON.

If Morey signs sny player that can’t hit the 3 while having MDA run this offense then he’s a damn fool. Other teams are signing bet minimum players that can shoot. SA just signed Belinelli. Sprightly can shoot the 3 and defend as a big. There are players out there still unsigned that can come on the cheap. Hell, the Lakers just signed a few good players for nothing. And Morey is looking st T Booker? This guy can’t hit the side of a barn. Michael Carter Willams who shot 22% from 3? Seriously?! At this point I’d be fine rolling with the rookies or taking a look st Nunnly from Europe. Oh, and he better damn well not let Capella walk after signing a 33-year-old to a 4 year max contract while straddling the Rockets financially for the foreseeable future. Without a center we have no chance. Replace Ariza with the right piece and we’re still in the hunt

    #NewMath! :D

Good thought exercise on that aelliott. A great example of "multiple moves" to solve a problem. It is easier for all of us to think "1 move checker-type stuff" but Morey tends to think chess-type moves that have ramifications.

    Problem solving.

With the loss of Ariza... anything we can do to turn Ryno's $20 million salary from one non-useful player to a pair of contributors would be very well received.

    Precisely!

Then couple that with the taxpayer MLE addition.
And then perhaps Morey hits on a few Vet Min guys. Remember, last year Rockets added Green & Moute with the vet min. They helped.
Maybe the Rockets get lucky and 1 of Melton/Edwards are able to help the rotation in the regular season.

The Loss of Ariza's defense hurts. And loss of his durability. BUT, there is a chance the offense can get even better and that can off-set some of the defensive loss.

Just remember that Morey never shows his hand. Our rumors and leaks usually are way off

Rodney Hood would be a great fit. I know he had a stretch of not playing very well with limited minutes off the bench but he was great in Utah, and showed in the playoffs what he’s capable of doing when given the green light to shoot. The kid has the athleticism and size to play defense at the very least. At best he can be an offensive weapon with his ability to drive one on one and 3 pint shot.
