All the reports said "NO" to Houston and instead they were all dismissed. This reporter doesn't know and that reporter doesn't know and this person's guessing and no one knows LeBron and blahblahblahblahblah 95% coming, yeaaaah! We gotta stop dismissing reports because they're not in favor. "LeBron is just putting these reports out to put pressure on the Cavs and Dan Glibert to get him to trade him to Houston for Ryan Anderson! Marla Ridenour, Chris Haynes, Tim Kawakami, Brian Windhorst, Sam Amick, all these reporters have no idea and are just guessing. One big media conspiracy to keep Houston down! LeBron is coming to Houston." --> Well actually, those reports were right and LeBron had no interest in Houston. Wanna blast someone, blast LeBron, not the reporters.
I don’t blame Clutchfans for getting excited at the possibilities. I just always found it amazing how many people casually wrote off the Lakers as a threat despite virtually every report saying otherwise. Lakers fans browsing this website were probably dying of laughter at some of the things being said on here.
Right. Shoot, I was excited about the possibility. I only push back against this because it turns into outrage against Ryno, Morey, CP3, etc. in various forms. Nobody is to blame. Lebron looked at Houston, talked to his friend and said "no." Maybe it was because he didn't want to join an elite team, maybe it was because he didn't want to come to Trump country, maybe it was because he was going to LA for business reasons no matter what. Who knows.
Exactly. I was just about to respond when I saw this comment. Everyone freaking out because Morey hasn't done anything doesn't realize that he had zero cap space to work with. Their current contracts and Chris Paul's cap hold pretty much made it impossible to add anyone with "cap space," because that cap space doesn't exist. Frankly, the fact that he was able to get Chris Paul to sign a four-year deal instead of five and that he got Green back on a veteran minimum deal are both big wins for Morey in my book. There's a lot of time left in the offseason, and it was always an extreme longshot that Morey was going to land a free agent stud. He's going to have to improve this team the Morey way this summer: savvy deals with under-the-radar guys and shrewd trades.
I agree, except players that would actually see the floor against the warriors. Love is just as useful as Ryno against Golden state and likewise with Aldridge. Your suggestions are equivalent to that of a 13 year old in 2012. Stupid suggestions that do not make this team better with respect to Golden state. You'd just be replacing one bench guy at $20 million plus for another bench guy at $20 million plus. Dumb. I'm so sick of Love suggestions, it's like you people dont watch any other games outside of th Rockets games.
Sign eric gordon and then see any other big 3. Cousons AD, kawhii, marc gasol, jordon, k love etc to join. Try to ask lou Williams, Beverley and michael Beasley back.
Wings Available - Dante Cunningham KCP - signed with LAL Corey Brewer Wayne Ellington James Ennis Kyle Anderson Jeff Green Rodney Hood RFA Wesley Johnson Mike Scott Lance Stephenson - signed with LAL GRIII - signed with DET LMAM Treveon Graham
Ellington-could accept as an MLE target Ennis, Kyle Anderson-Could accept as minimum targets Rodney Hood-no thank you Mbah a moute: still hoping he comes back for minimum or non bird
Agreed. And I think they will, but I also think there's a strong chance that Luc may require it. Morey is a smart guy, though, and he always finds ways to add contributors who don't break the bank.
Yeah, Ellington is the guy I want. They need a guy who is just an absolute lights out shooter, and Ellington fits that bill. And given how poor this free agent market is, the MLE is a decent offer for a role player this summer. Belinelli signed for roughly that.
Best hope is we dump Ryan and picks for Bazemore or Batum and sign someone like Ennis and get Clint back. We don’t really have any assets to trade for anyone else. Would be nice to get one more person that can create their own shot though. Also hope Kawhi doesn’t make it to the Lakers...
The Warriors limit everyone, that's what great teams do. Doesn't mean you don't go add talent when you can. Are we supposed to let Capela go because he was limited greatly by GS?
