I know Ryno handicaps us and we're not in the best position financially, but I think it's crazy that we pushed the Warriors to 7 and we haven't garnered more interest. It's like the league has kind of just given up on beating GSW and everyone just wants to get paid.
we got those Chinese money in the bank.. if OKC can pay that much to its players...pretty sure we can afford to go over the hold a little..
I know random trades and all, but what is likelihood of Love to Rockets? Think Morey is kicking tires on that with Lebron out of Cleveland for sure?
We should have taken care of Anderson already and packaged him with picks to dump that and create some room to improve the roster. We’ve taken a major step backwards all becaue there was a chance Lebron could come. CP3 should have let DM know way earlier.
They are so far over because of bird rights of PG and then Melo opting in. Who's bird rights do we have that we can sign? No one. Moute we don't. We have Capella's so we can match. But that's it. Anyone else will have to go the Gerald Green way. Have to get rid of Anderson. Dude is KILLING US
The Rockets were criticized heavily during the playoffs about their style of play with Harden and Paul taking turns playing iso ball. Even Gordon openly criticized it. Some players around the league may not want to be apart of that.
It's a combination of things: -We can't offer anyone more than any other contender can. Literally, we can't outbid ANY contender. So that alone puts us up against teams like Golden State, Boston, the Lakers, etc. -If you are a guard, why would you pick Houston? Paul/Harden/Gordon basically dominate the guard minutes. We also re-signed Gerald Green. -If you are a wing we have a prime opening, but go back to #1. Not any money to really compete with any offers.
Let's see how this Ryno thing plays out, MLE, Capela contract, etc. It's just one day into FA. Maybe our Picks also have a bigger role, for all we know... one of them could be diamond in the roughs. If not, there's always the trade deadline. It's all about being healthy for postseason, let's not forget... 65 wins. Snag that #1 seed. Might I add, teams are trying to catch the Warriors and us.
-With Lakers signing Lebron and KCP, this is good news for the Capela front. I don't think anyone has any money left. We might get him for 10-11 million, which would be amazing. -We need to lock up Luc with the MLE, or a portion. -LMA and Love need to be legitimate trade targets. No reason for SAS or Cle too keep them at this point. -If you strike out there, turning Anderson into lesser bad deals, maybe from Denver, would be advantageous. -If there is nothing there, I am looking at an Anderson for Bazemore swap. We still have avenues to improve over last year.
He'll sign his qualifying offer before he signs for 10 million. The Spurs want to continue to be a playoff team, and no reason they shouldn't. They were a playoff team last year and a pretty good team for MOST of the season until falling off late. They are adding to their roster, not looking to rebuild.
Right, I'm with you. I wouldn't be shocked by any of Denver, Clippers, Utah, New Orleans or San Antonio missing the playoffs.
My sense is that they are doing everything they can right now to prevent LA from poaching Capela. If they offer him something outrageous (which they might), I'm not sure we match.... Aside from retaining Capela, I can see this team bringing up Hartenstein this season along with Melton and Edwards as reserves. If Edwards shows any promise, its possible he backups up LMM, and Melton serves as a backup alongside EG and GG for CP and JH. As for bigger moves, I think we're going to have to wait till the trade deadline before anything goes down.
@The Cat brings up a good name on twitter: Courtney Lee Great shooter, defense has fallen off a little and not the length profile you want for this switching defense, but he'd be a great fit here.
Chris Paul is telling people that Lebron wants to join the Lakers-SAS over a week ago. Morey may have been holding out hope because he knows how great Lebron is, but we were never in consideration. I laid out the reports on here multiple times as @J.R. and @J Sizzle can attest. There was never a credible report that we were in the game at ALL. This board got worked up by the possibility (myself included) because it made sense and then some people went wild. That's all there ever was about Lebron to Houston.
