I’m not one for questioning Hinch, but I would’ve really liked to see Morton stay in to finish that inning. Even though his pitch count was a little over 100 he hadn’t had any at bats that he had to struggle through. Granted, the extra run scoring isn’t on Devo at all.
You’re conveniently forgetting his clutch hit in game 4 of the ALDS last year. Not saying that he wasn’t awful the rest of the playoffs but to say he always chokes in high leverage situations is a bit hyperbolic.
