OKC will likely have to waive-and-stretch Melo. According to ESPN's graphic tonight, that alone would save the Thunder nearly $100M in salary/tax next season!
Yet, the same owner refused to pay Harden that extra $4 million. That $4 million the owner refused to give Harden is what made this Golden State Dynasty. There would be no Golden State if this owner wasn't so cheap
But it's what gave the Rockets Harden so I wouldn't complain. They learned their lesson from that unfortunately.
Huh, pg dead straight wanted to go to la, but after one year with toxic triple double mvp he decides to stay and try to win a ring? Regardless of his motive (ring or money) I respect pg more than btch ass kd. Kd took the easiest route while pg decided to do the insane route. Playing with statpadd westbrick and attempt to beat the warriors and us is pretty cool.
It was a different time then (before the TV deal skyrocketed contracts) and I'm pretty sure harden wanted to be a star, not a guy off the bench. I cant honestly believe it came down to 5 million. The biggest problem was being stuck with russ , who is just a stats guy that hurts other talented players. They should have blown it up this offseason, this will just prolong the suffering at a very expensive price.
Some people like to make fun of them but i think they'll be hard to beat with Roberson on the court and with Melo gone. On emore team for Lebron to "take care of" with Boogie...lmao.
Paul George saw no place for him with The Ball b****es now running the show in L.A. and decided to just settle and take the money. He knows Westbrook is a selfish punk but that contract can buy him an island so he'll be okay after.
What a fool, my guess is his ego won't let him go to LA now with potentially Kawhi and Lebron in town. He would be overshadowed. Good luck riding, I mean rotting with Westbrook and Melo.
lol like i said before. every year its the same story. LA is getting someone. everyone wants to play for LA. once again still waiting... they couldnt even get pg13 who by many peoples accounts was a sure thing to go back. Now that hes chosen to stay in okc, hes getting flack haha. good for pg13 not to go to LA and play with that roster
They got another owner in the group in 2014, george kaizer. He is worth 8 billion dollars. So they don't have to be as cheap anymore.
Then the rockets would not have Harden and eventually Chris Paul and OKC might be the dynasty everyone on here complains about
I honestly think this is great news. PG staying in OKC and Paul staying here in Houston will make it very difficult for Lebron to either a.) go to LA or b.) be competitive if he goes there. We didn't need another super team in the Western Conference. And OKC won't be too much better this year. They still can't shoot. Westbrook is still a ball hog that doesn't know how to win. They have proven they are not a threat.
