I don’t think there are many viable alternatives. We are really hamstrung financially. Obviously efforts will be made to move Anderson and/or move Gordon in a bigger move but that isn’t going to be easy. At this point I think we see the Rockets try to push Anderson for someone like Bazemore that fits better. Maybe we sign someone like Ellington or Curry (if we are lucky), lose one or two of our free agents and hope that the players we add are a better fit here. I am curious to see who GS gets for their MLE. I suspect it is going to be a surprisingly good player. I expect their bench to be better.
Everything I've been hearing on SiriusXM's NBA channel is that most of the rumors point to this not being an entirely basketball decision. He's got entertainment ventures he's working on, as well as a mansion there, and possibly his family liking it out in Cali. But ... just rumors.

the most hillarious thing I have seen the past week is many Lakers fans clamoring for Kobe to come out of retirement to play with Lebron in the super Lakers.. It's just a shame that their dreams can't come true. Lavar+ Cousins+Lebron + Kobe...
He can be a wizard and he can bust his s ass but he can’t change facts. It is like Paul George last year; we wanted him and he would have likely resigned here but assets are assets. Same happened the summer Parsons left.
I saw this coming. Pels will try to keep him on a 2 yr deal but Lakers may get desperate to get LeBron and try just about anything.
Then Kobe will chime in on his little Detail program and point out how he is closer to MJ than Bron is
Part of me would welcome a Lakers lineup featuring gimpy and eternally pissed-off Demarcus Cousins paired with Lebron, with Kobe hopefully taking jabs and Lavar Ball coaching from the stands and media. This could evolve into the perfect trainwreck.
