What happens if a Warriors player is injured? According to you, the Rockets were better than the Warriors this year, yet they didn't win the title. What's to stop Lebron from being on the 2nd or 3rd best team in the league and winning a title?

As long as the Houston Rockets win as many championships as they possibly can, I do not give a damn who is on the team to make it happen.

So, if he comes to Houston, we're going to be titleless. If he goes to another team, we never know.

If the rumored Lebron-Kawhi-George team-up happens I still think that team comes in as the 3rd best in the West, Maybe 4th in the league depending on what shakes out with Boston. Kawhi strikes me as a product of Pop's system I have serious doubts that he will be nearly as effective in an offense that isn't catered to getting him open shots and easy mismatches. George proved last season that he could play off the ball effectively but it still makes him kinda one dimensional. Add to the fact that the Lakers would have to gut their young talent to trade for Kawhi and that doesn't make for a roster that strikes fear into my heart.

if they're somehow able to get that trio, that instantly becomes the best trio behind GS in the league

Perhaps, but a trio of players doesn't create a 8-9 man rotation. How they fill that out will ultimately answer who is the better team. (BTW, statistically speaking, the best trio in the NBA during the regular season was Harden-Paul-Capela, not Steph-Klay-KD)

I guess the ultimate irony would be if Dwight Howard re-joined the Lakers on a vet minimum contract to team up with those guys.

I don't know man. Kawhi might be a b**** but he is an above average NBA player

Says who? U forget that that Cavs team was bottom 10 defensively. They ran through the East, but a bunch of WC teams could do that.

too many Nostradamus’s on here trying to downplay the Lakers as some sort of coping mechanism...if the Lakers can get 3 stars together there they will be a contender, with just 2 stars they will be very good

If he ends up with the Lakers, 2nd round exit would be my guess.

Bron has run thru the east since 2011. 3 stars on lakers? I'll believe it when I see it. Very good isn't better than GS.

kevin love might be an all-star talent in a vacuum (especially if the vacuum was transported 2 to 3 years in the past), but against the warriors his defense is such a liability that he may as well not be on the team. at his pre-injury peak, kawhi was definitely worth irving + love because love was basically a breakeven guy against the warriors (and would be against the rockets) and leonard was basically an even more efficient offensive volume scorer than irving, just without the ability to really really go off like irving could and obviously is the perfect defender for golden state (and the rockets).

The loss in Game 7 hurts a little more now knowing what we know today since many believed losing Game 7 would’ve given LeBron an excuse to join Houston (not joining the team that beat you). Wouldn’t surprise me at all if LeBron found a way to the Finals in the West somehow, he’s that good . The fu**** up part is a fan base like Laker-nation and the Kobe nut-huggers getting Lebron’s services after years of ridiculing him.
