why is it too much? him and pj both have the same value and role for this team. $8 mil isn't supposed to be too much at all
He turns 33 tomorrow. Anyone think he'll be a year better in 2018-19, and not a year older? That said, isn't he supposed to be a gigantic clubhouse guy? As in, all of the guys like him and he helps smooth out any locker room issues? He might have more value for this team than shows up on a stats sheet. And it's not like he's going to probably have a 0-12 night ever again... (Gulp.) Every dollar you allot for him though is another dollar you can't use to retain Capela or resign Paul. Or use to entice any of the FAs Morey is probably looking to add.
https://theundefeated.com/features/nba-b-list-free-agents-2018-to-keep-an-eye-on/ The Rockets are expected to give Paul a maximum contract, re-sign restricted free-agent center Clint Capela and work to re-sign reserves Luc Mbah a Moute and Gerald Green, sources told The Undefeated. The valuable defensive specialist Trevor Ariza could be an odd man out.
I really think the Anderson-Bazemore swap could be a legit option here. It's obvious they were going to trade Ariza if Bazemore had ended up signing here two years ago.
I really hope Atlanta would still get that swap if we only give them 2nd rounders and young players (Nanu, Hartenstein)...it would suck to lose a 1st rounder for this swap even though i understand it may be necessary at this point. I also wonder what kind of value Bazemore have right now, pretty sure it's not particularly good, might still be a good deal for Atlanta even if they just get minor assets, i don't really see which team would trade a 1st for Bazemore.
Written by the BAY AREA's Marc Spears. The same BAY AREA (Haynes) trying to get Ariza off the Rockets and onto the Warriors. Got it....BAY AREA Media.
