You know Lebron has a no trade clause and is an UFA right? Cleveland has no power here. If Lebron wants Houston then that’s where he’ll go.
another day another F5ing. Lets hope to get LBJ to rockets today and make it a good friday in DM we trust
Personally, I’m not worried about the LBJ situation. If he decides that Houston is the place for him, I have no doubt that Morey already has the path (and possibly multiple different pathways) to make it happen. Morey is one of the best GM in the NBA, if not in all of the major sports. He is always prepared to strike on a deal when it benefits the team and is almost always patient enough to wait out better opportunities. The one time, in recent history, that I felt like he rushed into a deal was the Lawson trade but that was a shot worth taking. Rockets’ felt like they needed another playmaker. While Morey took a chance on Lawson, the cost of the deal was practically null; Kosta, Nick Johnson, Prigs and 1st (Hernangomez). Even the Anderson contract, while a bit too rich, was the price of doing business that offseason. And without Anderson, we could track that we might not even be in a position to lure LBJ today. No Anderson and Gordon probably doesn’t come/take less to come, no Gordon and Anderson and Rockets don’t win 55 and Harden doesn’t improve his reputation as a willing passer, Rockets don’t win 55 with Harden as a MVP candidate and CP3 doesn’t look at us seriously, no CP3 and the Rockets don’t look to be the only true challenger to the Warriors and without all that, we aren’t even being mentioned as a possible LBJ landing spot, even as a darkhorse.
Eagerly anticipating the calls for Morey to be fired if Lebron Opts Out, despite not even legally being able to talk to him.
Exactly, at least they will get picks or players at all otherwise James could just walk and they get nothing
Burt Steele died in a boating accident many years ago. His brain pearl was salvaged and placed in an unused android host which is Daryl Morey.
And also worth mentioning: that proposed trade where Ryno goes to a third team also nets CLE a $20m+ TPE. Do not understand the return such a huge TPE can provide for teams trying to blow-it up. That TPE itself could absorb massive salaries in exchange for even more picks.
Spot on. I phrased that wrongly. I meant we will REALLY know in the next 24 hours if we have no chance really without gutting the team to where it would make it much much less unfavorable to Lebron. Lebron opting in today, would be good a day for Rocket fans keeping hopes alive and it eliminates other competition really. If he opts in, and plan to be traded to Houston! would be the greatest day of all
